Sims game and EA App not working

I started having trouble with the EA app loading, it would start but the page would be blank.  I would reload and that didn't work, i would restart app and that didn't work. I have tried clearing the cache, that didn't work. i've tried a lot of other suggestions suggested to me by the EA chat reps but they didn't work. I've been able to get the game to start when i run from the desktop as administrator but it will crash or give me an error. I went to the control panel to try and uninstall everything but the EA App is no where to be found when i go to the control panel to uninstall or when i right click the EA app symbol from the search. It pulls up installed apps you cant find the EA App. i tried chatting with someone and they suggested i download REVO but the EA app is nowhere to be found in that either, but it is still showing up in my task bar, and in the start menu. when i go to EA and try to download the EA App it says its already installed and asks if i want to run it or repair it. i have clicked both options and neither work, and i still cannot find the EA App in control panel to try and uninstall it.  Please help! i cannot figure this out for the life of me and i've restarted my computer several times. and anyone through EA has been less than helpful.

  • @08pecama  You could try using Revo in Hunter mode to search for the EA App.  That has mixed success, at least.

If that doesn't help, manually delete the Electronic Arts folder in C:\Program Files.  If you don't have permission, make sure there are no EA-related services running in the Task Manager, including in the background processes list.  Then try again to install the App, and if it works, remove it with Revo again just to be thorough, then restart your computer and reinstall.

If you use a third-party antivirus, please disable it (temporarily) while doing the above, and don't reenable it until you've tested the App at least once.  As long as you don't do anything else at the same time, your computer should be safe.

Sims 4 won't work unless the EA App does, so it's best to focus on the App first, then circle back to the game once the App is working.

    I really appreciate your suggestions.

Last night i did go through and delete the electronic arts folder in C:\program files, and i uninstalled any sims program i could. then i as able to get the EA app up and running and reinstall my sims games and it was able to work, but when i go to my control panel the EA app is still no where to be found and when i shut down my computer and turned it back on, there was a window already pulled up saying its already installed and asking if i want to repair or start app. i repaired it and still no EA app in the control panel. I dont know how concerned i should be that i can't find it in the control panel if its working and the sims is working when i play it.

When i use the Revo in hunter mode and i get to the "found leftover registry items"  How do i know which ones to select? when i was chatting with EA they couldn't tell me. I appreciate your help!

@08pecama  Whatever leftover registry entries Revo finds should be deleted, at least if you're doing a(nother) clean uninstall of the App.  The App missing from the Control Panel isn't a problem in and of itself, but it's a symptom of an issue that will probably keep interfering with how the App works.

I don't know whether this is due to an overly-aggressive antivirus or some other system issue, but I personally would want to address it.  However, if your game is working at the moment, you can of course wait to deal with the App until you run into another problem.
