SOUND ERROR

I've been playing for a few days and noticed that the game's sound is bugged on the upper floors. On the first floor, the game sounds normal with high volume for what the Sims are doing, but when I go to the second floor, the game sounds extremely quiet, as if the camera were still on the floor below. When I use the free camera with the "TAB" key, the second floor sounds normal, but playing with the free camera isn't ideal because it hides the HUD. When I deactivate the free camera, I notice that it automatically switches to the first floor without me using the arrow keys to change the floor view. Can you fix this? I hate that I can't hear anything my Sims are doing on the second floor. I've already tried uninstalling all my mods and even creating a new game, and the problem persists, so this is an internal bug in the game. I'm playing on version 1.122.218 on PC.

  • I found the solution. I did a file check and it turns out I had more than 150 corrupted files and more than 400 missing files. I had to reinstall the whole game and now the sound works normally as it should.

  • wbpy46jctn65  Just to be absolutely sure this isn't due to some weird build issue, please create a new house with one large room per floor and test there.  Don't delete any tiles around the staircases (let the game do that), and don't put railings or any other dividers inside the room.  You don't need to decorate at all; just make sure each room is large enough that your focus can be inside it, so to speak, rather than perhaps focused outside of the house.

puzzlezaddict Hey friend, sorry for the late reply. I created a new game in The Sims 4 and did exactly what you told me: I created a house with two ridiculously large floors, no windows or rooms, but the problem persists only on the second floor. The sound is loud and normal on the first floor, bro, but the problem is on the second floor. So it is a problem with the game. If it were a problem with my PC, the sound would be low on the first floor or throughout the entire game, but this only happens on the second and third floors.

It's worth noting that I tested this with the MODS disabled.
