Swapping to another computer.

So this one is handful. Here we go.

My fiance loves the Sims. I have a pc and a Steam acoount that she would play The Sims on and use on the regular. She has all her save files and expansion packs she paid for on my Steam acoount. Recently she purchased her own computer to be able to play The Sims at her leisure. My issue I'm having is that I cannot get the save files to load on her account, even though I have already added them properly to her computer, (VIA flash drive drag and drop into proper folder).

I have spoken to EA help about this issue and they are absolutely useless. No help whatsoever in swapping over the details from my account to her account, which I don't see as a big restriction regardless of the fact that I am the on giving the approval to do so.

She has spent $200 on expansions and to not be able to switch them to another account is absolute blasphemy.

So, I guess my question would be, is there any sort of workaround that any one knows of to have her be to have access to her saves and still be on her account and use her information? Would adding her account as a "Teen account" on my own account make the saves and expansions show up on her computer? Any sort of real help to this problem besides EA help would be appreciated.

  • @LeftyMk8  EA doesn't support sharing or transferring content between accounts.  In fact, enabling family sharing in Steam has been known to prevent the game from opening at all.  So I don't think you'll ever be able to get anywhere on that front.

For the saves, have you made sure you're placing them in the folder Sims 4 is actually reading?  Sometimes it uses a different Documents folder.  Here's how to check:

If that's not the issue, please post a screenshot of the contents of the saves folder, as in, I'd like to see the file names.  Include the address bar, above the list of files, in the screenshot.

The saves themselves are no problem provided you have copied them to the correct location. She will however need to buy any expansions on her account or continue playing on your account. It does not matter that she bought them only what account they were bought on.
