The sims 4 keeps freezing

Hi. I don't have any mods or CC installed. I have all packs except the new ones that came this month. I try to play the game but it keeps freezing and makeing my whole computer freeze at the same time.

I have tried cleaning the save files and several times used the EA app restore game function but nothing helps.

  • Nukke1992  As a test, please try playing in a clean user folder.  Move the entire Sims 4 folder out of Documents > Electronic Arts and onto your desktop.  When you launch the game, a clean folder will spawn with no content.  (Your saves and other content will be intact in the folder you've moved but temporarily unread by the game.)  Don't add anything to the new folder yet; just start a new save and see how it runs.

If the game freezes again, please provide a dxdiag.  Click Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

I moved my saves to desktop and started a new game and this time it froze after/while saveing and then shut the game down without makeing my whole computer freeze with the game. Just took the DxDiag and didn't check if it really saved the game or not. Going to check it right now.

it did download the save and it worked for a while. desided to put houses from library and gallery to newcrest and after i filled every lot and trying to check on build-mode one of the lots the game crashed while loading the lot. it also restarted my computer. i can put a new dxdiag that i ran after this crash?

  • Nukke1992  Most of the errors in both dxdiags are crashes of the graphics driver, so start with a clean uninstall and reinstall of the driver.  Here's how:

    https://crinrict.com/blog/2019/02/clean-re-install-of-graphics-drivers-with-display-driver-uninstaller-ddu.html

You can get a fresh copy of the newest driver here:

    https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/drivers/

But if this doesn't help, DDU the driver again and install an older driver from that page.  You'll want a Game Ready (not Studio) Driver, and the ones from October and November should be fine.
