I posted about this same issue the other day. Managed to resolve either by doing a factory reset on my Sims 4 folder (and re-adding all my saves, tray files and mods). Otherwise tried by verifying integrity of game files via Steam. And then when I open again it seems to work. But every other day the same thing keeps happening. Definitely sounds like a bug after the new update.
