Hello again! I been very busy but I would like to try and fix the game when I get home. Is it possible for me to still get help when I try again?

  • Ex3o  Sure, I'll be around whenever you have time to troubleshoot.  Please run and post a new dxdiag at that point so that all the information is fresh, and confirm that my suggestions earlier in the thread currently don't work, as in, you tested them again now.  Sometimes a random update (Windows or otherwise) changes things enough that a previous failed workaround can fix the issue, and I don't want to send you jumping through hoops if the current fix is something we previously tried.

which service should I keep on so my wifi works? Also I'm playing on steam so should I keep the steam service on too?

  • Ex3o  Your wifi should work without leaving any particular service enabled because the Windows wifi driver should be fine.  But if wifi doesn't work, look for something with a name like "Qualcomm Atheros Wireless Network Adapter," which is the name of the installed wifi driver.

I haven't heard anything about Steam not working when its services are disabled, which could mean that they're safe to disable or that everyone who's tested has seen "leave the EABackgroundService enabled" and applied that concept to Steam.  Here again, start with the services disabled, and if Steam won't open or load properly, reenable them and restart your computer.

So I got everything to open but I can’t use the ea app because it says I don’t have Internet. My driver is still enabled but I don’t even see the wifi symbol on the taskbar

  • Ex3o  Does the internet work outside of the EA App?  If not, you'll need to find the other service(s) involved.  I can't see into your system to tell you what to look for, but as mentioned, your wifi driver is from Qualcomm.  Most of the services' names are fairly straightforward, but if google doesn't know what something is, feel free to ask me.

Okay, so I figured it out. I just turned on hide Microsoft services before disabling all and then enabling the Steam and ea services. However, I tried with the Wi-Fi on and with it off and still had the same issue. My USB hub and everything else except the keyboard and mouse are plugged in.

  • Ex3o  I'm sorry, I'm not sure I understand.  Choosing "Hide Microsoft services" is standard, but did it make any difference at all?  Or are you saying that the internet works but you can't play?

At any rate, please disable your Meta Virtual Monitor software, which might still be running even in a clean boot.  Sims 4 doesn't always get along well with virtual monitors like this.

Your current dxdiag also shows you have a pile of sound devices plugged in.  Please disconnect them all, along with everything else except for the keyboard and mouse.

Your C drive is also extremely low on free storage right now, with only 10 GB left.  While this isn't necessarily the cause of your issues, it could be, so please try to clear another 15 GB or so.

If you still can't play, please look for new errors in the Reliability Monitor.  Your dxdiag still isn't listing any Windows error reports, which means either they're getting deleted or the dxdiag process can't read them.  I need that info.
