Trouble opening the game.

I'm having difficulty opening the game on my new laptop.
Every time I open Sims 4, the screen goes black but then it kicks me back to the desktop.
I can get around it by removing the Sims 4 folder, starting a new game, exiting and putting my saves in the newly-generated folder. Following that, it opens and runs just fine!
Any ideas as to how I can fix this issue properly?
I have no CC, no mods.
I exceed minimum spec; when it's open it runs like a dream on ultra settings.
I've repaired the game already and it made no difference.

you have an error with NahimicOSD.dll .. that DLL belongs to the Nahimic Audio Software which is known for conflicts with the game.
You have three options
- Make sure you have Nahimic Audio all updated. It might work then
- Disable Nahimic while you play the game
- Uninstall Nahimic
The software comes pre-installed and in my experience isn't used by many people.
You also have some Windows Update errors. Make sure those are all resolved as well (try updating again)
