TS4 Causing Computer to Crash and Blue Screen

This is so **bleep** aggravating, I have spent thousands of hours and lots of money on this game, yet I can’t play it. I’ll use the most recent instance as an example. I started out making a household based on the show Dexter, I make my Sim then enter into build mode to build his apartment, I close the game, realizing there’s some CC I need, I download it, open the game back up, 1… 2.. Bam! Blue screen! I relog into my computer then open the game back up, keep building for like 15 minutes and again it crashes my computer.  This cycle has happened far too many times. I play for like an hour, game blue screens computer, go back on computer and reopen the game, and another blue screen. I even did a factory reset on my computer, nothing. I tried playing it vanilla, same thing happens.

Also my computer is way capable of running it on high graphics, I can run the vast majority of AAA games on high/ultra. I’ve got a 3060, an Intel i5-10600k, and 32 Gbs of RAM.

I’m not letting my time and money go to waste, please somebody help.

  • Maxithrill  Please provide a dxdiag.  Hit Windows key-R, enter dxdiag in the run box, wait for the scan to finish, click "Save all information," and save the file to your desktop.  From there, you can attach it to a reply using the paper clip (Attachment) icon included with the other formatting buttons.

  • Maxithrill  The types of BlueScreens in your dxdiag suggest a problem with a critical driver but don't make it clear which one.  So please provide the associated crash dumps.  Open C:\Windows\Minidump , grab the most recent three or four files (right-click and Copy, then right-click your desktop and Paste), zip them together, upload the .zip to third-party filesharing site (e.g. Google Drive), and link it here.

This site will be closed soon for a few days as the merge with Answers HQ is completed, and in fact I thought it was closed already or I'd have replied earlier.  But it should be back up again soon, and I'll be around then to follow up in this thread.
