Weird Game Version txt file

Hey everyone, anyone knows why my text file looks like this after last two hotfixes? It was fine with the update up until the 1st hotfix for the store button.

I have: deleted cache, deleted the file and ran the game, then I did all of this again and repaired the game and it is sitll the same 😅 My game is fine (as far as I know lol) it's just the weird txt file all of a sudden.

    @jupkmn  I've merged your post with the master thread for this issue.  It's purely cosmetic in that it has no effect on the game, but if you want to know why it's happening, this thread has an explanation.

    After the patch 1.121 update, the game version (txt) file is unreadable. Instead of writing the version with numbers, some strange signs appear. The game works well, I tested it and I have neither outdated mods nor conflicts. After the update I played a new game in the system without mods. The game works normally with and without installed mods. I also installed the new version of S4S which does not recognize the changes of the new patch (does not see the game version) What do I need to do to have a correct file of the game version. I copied the version of the game from config and put it in the game version file, but after playing again (localthumbcache file deleted) the text file returned to the original symbols.

    what you have crossed out worked for me. I right clicked and opened it with microsoft word. so thank you
