What to do if after reinstalling my game, the saves are in file but not in game

My sims 4 game wouldn't upload mods into the game after I put them into the Mods file, and one of the tips I saw was to reinstall the game and upload the old saves, mods, tray and screenshot files into the new EA folder. Well, i followed the instructions, but my saves and other files aren't showing up in the game. IDK what to do☹️( now not only my mods aren't working, but my saves are not loading in either

  • @faithiol  First, please right-click on one of the save files you moved and select Properties > General, then find the file path under Location.

Next, open Sims 4 and find the user folder the game is reading:

If the location of the save does NOT match the folder Sims 4 is reading, that's your issue, and you need to move your saves and other content to the correct folder.

If the file paths are the same but your saves still aren't showing up, please post a screenshot of the contents of the folder that contains your saves, as in, I'd like to see the save files themselves.

What's true of saves is true for everything else: mods and custom content need to go into Mods inside the folder Sims 4 is using, and Tray files inside the corresponding Tray folder.

  • @faithiol Literally same!! Reintalled the game onto computer (from EA Games) and the file pathways have changed. There are no files named "Mods" or "saves" or even "cache." I was so freaked out when I saw the file pathway layout because NOTHING was actually NAMED.
It's EA Games>The Sims 4> to THIRTY EIGHT files named _Installer, Data, Delta, EP01 through to EP12, FP01, a folder named "Game"

What you are talking about is the game's installation folder. You need the game folder The Sims4, which is in the Documents
Path to this folder in Win10
Click the Windows icon in the left corner of the screen, from the list of programs that open select and click > System > choose then: "This PC" > C drive > Users > computer name or your name > Documents > Electronic Arts > The Sims 4
This folder is created when you run the game after the installation the first time.
