Where to get crystal slides?

i was doing the task and I was unable to do 2 out of the 3 tasks as the plants did not need watering nor did I have the rose. So I was left with the middle one to analyse a crystal on a telescope. So thinking was doing the right task on the analyser and was very puzzled why the task was not completed on the tasks list. So I pushed and then I realised it read telescope. So I check sure enough it was, but bad luck the part where it said was locked and I put my mouse over it to discover I needed a slide for it. So only thing I could do as unable to complete the tasks after all was to quit the game and not save it. B

ut I had saved it just 8 hours into the shift. So when I go back Susan be at work. So I need to know before I play again I need to know where can I get a slide? as I do a workaround on it. I know I can get slides from plants,so is it from the plants as I can't find how get a crystal slide. If I got to get it other than the lab. Then only solution is to go into build mode and buy a plant box and buy seeds and get her to plant and water that well at least get me on the first stage that well be adequate rather than terrible?

    To collect the crystal slides you have to place the crystal in-world then click on it and select "Collect Microscope Sample"

    @athewhofan2,

    If you haven't located any crystals at home, you can search around the lab for dig sites and mine them however this will consume most of your work time therefore it's recommendable that you do this before starting the work or on days when you don't have major tasks to complete. Alternatively, you can chat with co-workers and "Ask for a crystal' however they may not always have one if you're asking them frequently.

    You only need to have one crystal in your scientist sim's inventory.

    my sim has loads of crystals it the slides that was missing for the telescope I know can get slides from plants it says can't do without a slide. So would the plant slide for the telescope work on the crystal? I double check to see if any slides from the plants

    thank you very much. When I went back the tasks where different and was able to do them but as my game was a bit slow only got to the first part of the bar when the timer run out, but I make sure when I play next time I clear my catch.
