White Flashes during loading screens and in CAS

Product: The Sims 4
Platform: PC (Linux Mint (Cinnamon) through Steam and Wine)
Which language are you playing the game in? English
How often does the bug occur? Every time (100%)
What is your current game version number? Most Recent Patch
What expansions, game packs, and stuff packs do you have installed? Currently none
Steps:  I am unsure how to replicate this but it occurs every time i start the game and throughout all gameplay.
What happens when the bug occurs? No Lags but random white flashes towards the end of loading screens and most prominently in CAS when Anything new loads (e.g. A new hairstyle or a facial feature has been moved)
What do you expect to see? no white flashes
Have you installed any customization with the game, e.g. Custom Content or Mods? Taken all out. Currently a fresh install without any mods.
Did this issue appear after a specific patch or change you made to your system? Unsure. I haven't played this game on this OS before the most recent patch.

This is a fresh install of Linux Mint. It did take me quite a bit to get it to run at all (I know this isn't officially supported, but it works now), My issue is described above.

All drivers are updated (Nvidia 3050). Mod have been taken out. I removed all save games, cache files and everything else. It happens on a completely fresh install without any expansions as well as on the backed up  copy. With and without mods. With all expacs I own and without. I tried it with V-sync on and off, changed refresh rates, windowed fullscreen, fullscreen, window, changed resolutions, lowest graphic settings, everything i could alter in any way. The flashing continues to occur.

My hardware has not changed after i changed my OS, this computer used to run sims 4 just fine. I have doubts that it is because of my computer itself band instead a bug within the game.

I cannot play like this as it causes migraines. Anyone have a fix? Or at least an idea what the cause could be? I couldn't find any thread describing my exact issue as my game does not lag at all.

Tried both, issue persists. Thank you for trying to help though, it's appreciated!

  • Arcadios_V  Does the game run better in DirectX 9 mode?  You should see a DX9 box in the lower-right corner of the graphics settings page.

Other than that, I'm not sure how much I can help.  I have no hands-on experience with any flavor of Linux and rely on players' reports of issues and how they were fixed.  Given your description of the issue though, I might try a slightly older graphics driver.
