why does my sims 4 on pc keep freezing at home screen?

I'm having problems playing the sims 4 on my pc, every time i go on it it always freezes at the home screen were the sims 4 logo is and i'm not sure why I just got an update yesterday and it worked but I turned the mods on to enable it so I went out of it and clicked on it again but it froze again.
