Won't load from EA app or game shortcut

OMG, ditto!  I feel stupid.  My cat knocked my laptop on the couch (a foot or two) the day before this happened, so I kind of thought I had a hardware issue.  I tried "repair" multiple times.  For me, this started last night around 10pm EST.  I repaired, restarted my computer, cleaned out custom stuff, repaired, checked for updates on my game and my PC, restarted, ran other programs, tried again - till 1am.  Got up this morning, tried it all again and it still didn't work.  I am currently reinstalling the game and all my expansions; I am hoping it will work after this.  If it's just a glitch we're all getting, I'm gonna be so annoyed.
