Writing Song option missing

My Sim's aspiration tells her to click on an instrument and write songs. There is no "write songs" option when I click on an instrument??

You have to have pretty high up skill for it to appear. What level are you at ?

My Sim is almost at level eight in the guitar skill and the "Write Song" option still does not appear when I click the instrument.

Sims receive the option to write songs when they reach level 8 in the instrument.

I am at level eight in both guitar and violin and neither provides an option to write songs.
