My game has been extremely laggy for the past two days now and it's also crashed twice so far within two days as well. I've tried everything I can think of to lessen or eliminate the lag but nothing has worked, so I'm thinking the game itself has to be having an issue right now that's causing both the lagging and the crashing to happen. I haven't seen the Sims team address this at all, so I thought I would report it as a bug.

I do use mods, I already tested it without them and it still happened. I'm playing on PC, which I have now tagged. I've attached the last crash file I got when the game crashed. I did not get any last exceptions during that gaming session.
You can't attach exception and crash files. You need to use an external upload site and link it.
Could you post your Computer's DxDiag?
Do you have a crash file from an unmodded game ?

I don't have a crash file from an unmodded game because my mods were in when the game crashed. However, I did go ahead and try the clean folder approach that you linked. The only thing is I wasn't actually able to try it the way the post explains because as soon as I loaded up the clean user folder version of the game, I got a "your video card was not found in our database" pop up and the screen was black. Therefore, I couldn't follow the rest of the steps to load into a save and see if the problem was gone or not.
Could you try a clean install of your graphics drivers ?

I went ahead and tried a clean install of my graphics driver and the problem unfortunately still persists.
Do you still get he video card error ? Can you play anyways ? This usually just occurs if the card is newer than what's in the graphics file and you should be able to play anyways.
I can load into households just fine but the playability is almost impossible with how laggy the game is and the crashes happening every now and then. The lag is worse than the crashing, for me. It’s laggier than I’ve ever seen it and days before I wrote my post here, the game wasn’t acting like that. It’s like the lag got worse out of nowhere.
