- RoaringHeightsSeasoned NewcomerA few things:
-It seems to be an open neighborhood setting kinda similar to what they had in the console version of The Sims 3.
-Multipurpose lots for the very first time in the franchise.
-Apartments in the base game but there doesn't seem to be any houses.
-Emotions are most likely gonna be shelved in favor of reactions.
-Premades are FINALLY gonna have scheduled lives that they live instead of wandering aimlessly around the neighborhood.
-The prototyped animations and characters look very disney-like. I'm not a fan but it's too early to judge.
-I know I initially said that it could be releasing in 2025 but it seems like late 2026 is a better estimate. - Anonymous

I couldn't watch the stream. Was anything said about occults?
No. The VOD is here:
https://youtu.be/kE3n9MQp0UU - Love the lighting and art style for the most part. However the sims so far seem very cartoony, I know they are not finished but we can assume they will be close to this look based on previous prototypes of sims games. The hair especially looking like clay tells me we are going to have sims looking closer to that of TS4 which is quite disappointing.

Really? I feel like this looks more a year or two away.- i_love_frogs_11Rising AdventurerI won’t lie, I LOVE THIS :o This is what I would have expected the successor to The Sims 3 to have looked like. I’m liking the possible idea that we would get corner grocery stores, dive bars and bistro restaurants in base game? ? I love the art style of this/lighting if that’s what they are deciding to do. Won’t keep my hopes too high though, we obviously still don’t know much about it. But I like what i’m seeing here!
- crocobauraSeasoned AceI am not sure what to make of the prototype room scenes. Are they just to showcase lightning? I like the colours used, but there are a lot of decor objects cluttering up the room. Maxis doesn't normally do clutter, so are we to expect a lot more clutter in TS5? Also, does one of the sims in the interaction picture appear to be a bit shorter than the other ones?

I like how the apartment (?) shown looks lived in. Previous basegames always had a sanitized look about them, so this is an improvement. Other than that I don't expect the aspects that really interest me (time flow, played sims and npc management) to be covered anytime soon.
The "late morning" makes me wonder whether they lost the gradual move of time and replaced it with an action economy, something like "5 early morning actions per sim, then the game proceeds to mid morning (Making breakfast doesn't consume an action for Family sims, Night owl sims will get only four actions)". That would take some getting used to.
The little among us blob bit showed a classic sims clock so I'm not sure if they're gonna abandon that.
Also, I thought about what Lyndsay said in the summit in regards to Rene "Over the next couple of years" usually refers to 2-3 years, and this was in 2022 so maybe a 2025 release just in time for the 25th anniversary isn't completely off the table. - Rambley_RaccoonSeasoned Newcomer

We had multi-purpose lots in Sims 1. I recall going to a lot in the downtown area to find a restaurant,a shop and a bar(I think it was a bar),and there were no checklists for any of the lots. - Anonymous

And the Sims 2! Lots were assigned by what special community lot objects were placed on it.
But having a store + apartments in the same building is a first! - ChadSims2Seasoned Newcomer

The mixed-use buildings in the prototype are INCREDIBLE.
Mixed use lots are really nice they seem to have done what I wanted them to do in Sims 4 and have select rooms be a "lot type" instead of forcing you to stick to one."sam123;c-18282627" wrote:

Somehow the hair manages to look worse than Sims 4 hair that at least has some detail they moved onto shiny playdoh.
