Sims 2 bug (pregnancy)

I know that the new sims 2 release has many bugs, but I haven't seen anyone yet with this issue. I just hope that I'm not the only one. English isn't my native language, so I hope that whatever I write down makes sense.

I've made 3 different families to test things out, and none of them can have babies. It doesn't matter where they woohoo, or who initiates it, and even if they get abducted by aliens they won't get pregnant no matter what. The only way for me to make a family in the game is to adopt, which is fine, but that won't give them the achievment/wish for having a baby for some reason. On top of that, if I play long enough, my sim can't use the phone anymore. They just hang up, so I can't wait too long to adopt, or else I can't make a family no matter what I do.  

Has anyone else this problem?
