The Sims 1 won't launch – tried everything

Same here, I´m in Finland and purchased the game from Steam. 
Looks like the game is about to start but then... nothing. 

Windows 10/11. 

Having the same issue in the UK. So disappointed. Spent money only to receive a broken product, in return. Do better, EA.

Same issue here in Australia.  I was sooo excited and nothing :( Just installing Sims 2 now to see if that will work like everyone else has said.  Fingers crossed they fix it soon!!

Same for me. The Sims 1 Legacy doesn't start up for me, it crashes the EA app & then the EA app starts back up again. I'm not even able to find The Sims 1 Legacy in the EA Games Documents folder. It's like it's not even installed on my computer. I have Windows 10 & tried to repair The Sims 1 Legacy using the EA app, tried to uninstall & reinstall it, tried changing the 3D settings on my graphics card to use the integrated graphics card option ... But not one thing works at all 😔. I can play The Sims 2 Legacy version & it starts up just fine. It also shows a folder for The Sims 2 Legacy in the EA Games Documents folder. Please help 💚

Doesn't look like they touched the game at all, this is not a remaster but a re-release.

This is a known issue both games have had for a decade on modern computers, the solution is to force the game in windowed mode with the -w -r argument.

As an example,

-w -r1920x1080

This games are not worth 60€, considering EA did not even bother to fix the games on modern systems, you guys are buying old games at premium.
