10-Day Crash Lockout (Alto Alibi bug)

Since the update on April 20th, my game crashed instantly upon launch every time the Alto Alibi notification popped up. These lasted for 10 consecutive day, only being resolved by the update released two days ago.

This technical lockout was entirely outside of my control and caused me to miss three major concurrent events:

  • The Alto Alibi Challenge: By the time the game's playable again, only 26 hours remained in the event. This left zero opportunity to participate or earn the Villa Alto template.
  • SimChase Season 101 (Tough as Nails): Missed daily checkpoint prizes, including salon decor, new hairstyles, outfits and the "Use Hairspray" grand prize interaction.
  • Influence Island Season 82: Lost the opportunity to earn all currency rewards.

Players affected by this crash were severely disadvantaged compared to those who could play normally. Despite this, in-game support claimed that 100 Social Points is the "system maximum" for compensation. The amount is nowhere near the actual value of the 10 days of gameplay and the high-value grand prizes I was physically unable to earn due to this glitch.

I'm looking to see if other players who were locked out for this duration have successfully received compensation that actually reflects the loss of three full events, or if there's a known way to get these specific event items restored. It's disappointing that a 10-day technical lockout was never publicly acknowledged on the social media platforms.

Ah yeah... the discrepancy with prices... It think it has something to do with what level you are on or your town value. Still sucks tbh coz higher level or higher town value doesnt mean you have that much simoleons at the same time, especially since simchase and all the development projects (including sim springs) are super costly

Exactly and I’m not paying 8 mil for one or two items I don’t have. Someone posted one of the latest ah homes on fb….it’s showing over 8 mil for me but that same house is around 3 mil for them so wth is that about? Why are the prices so drastically different?

Same!!! Used to love AH homes coz they're a lot more unique, and there also consisted of rarer décor or furniture that I failed to earn through events, and what's even worse is that some of the furniture are missing or random basement with nothing at all in recent AH homes. Also they are getting more and more expensive for some reason, the cheapest ones for me is like 4 million simoleons, and the most expensive ones are more like ard 8 million simoleons.

Totally. This feature was what I looked forward to the most in this game and I could always count on there being at least one house full of treasures….now they’re just insulting us. I haven’t purchased one in months. All the houses are full of old content and anything worth having is removed. I’ve won and purchased new stuff that I can’t use for ah homes because they clearly aren’t choosing those homes. I don’t feel like spending a fortune to build these homes anymore. They’ve taken away our creativity.

I meant I went on full on rant, nearing to the extent of ranting tbh. Oh yeah basically the repeat and rinse coz have been playing since late 2013???? (i cant rmb exactly when lol) Btw did you notice that AH quality has been getting worse over time? And all the better ones are locked behind LPs

I’m surprised you got anything. I forgot to mention that the AH homes this week were also their way of punishing us. The new players may not have noticed but us oldies know exactly what they did.

Oh yeah the fair play warning..... Ikr, I had to be a bit more forceful with my demand coz they attempted to brush it off during my first complaint, so I ranted until another advisor had to come in just to acknowledge the issue and compensated merely 100 social points, which isnt even enough to cover the loss of the three major events... Tsk

  • Couldn’t agree more. I didn’t receive any compensation and I don’t expect to at this point. Instead of compensation we got a “play fair” warning….oops I mean reminder to read the terms and conditions like we’re children being scolded. That was their response. I don’t know if that had to do with our frustrations or with something else but this company has made it clear. They will do whatever they want whenever they want sealed by those terms and conditions no one reads. If you expect them to play fair and have a shred of decency in terms of customer service….well you are in the wrong place.
