Not getting credit for completing social tasks

When completing social tasks- if I bring the Sim home at the end, opposed to going to the neighbor's town, the task doesn't recognize as completed. I then have to do it all over again to get the points and move on to the next task, This has happened to me 2 or 3 times now. It just happened again today after completing "be on hold with tech Support" which was like a 5 hour task. Very frustrating. I am on Sims Free play on an android tablet.
