Sim chase toast not credited, makes me fall behind and lose

This happens in my game now and then. That’s the reason I usually have at least two more Sims doing that task. It’s also important to wait until all Sims have started the task. Then it’s better to leave the lot, go to another Sim and only go back when the task is done. At daytime I’m setting an alarm, so I don’t forget them.  
 
The rivals aren’t  real persons, but NPCs. They always need exactly 24 hours to finish all of their tasks.
