Iโm really excited about The Sims 4 Marketplace and Iโm actually interested in buying some of the content that will be available there. I canโt be the only one who feels this way, so Iโm curious to see how many people here are also looking forward to it.
Is anyone else excited about the Marketplace and planning to buy some of the new content?

At this moment in time, the answer is no.
I may be alone in thinking this, but I reckon a lot of my anger and frustration is placed towards the creators themselves. As if things like Patreon and perma-paywalling weren't enough for these greedy hobbyists, now they have another excuse to try and squeeze more money out of players, milking all that remains of an exhausted game.
As for EA, well I'm hardly surprised by such a move. It's in their nature to ruin what was once a nice thing. The Royalty and Legacy expansion now marks the end of my Sims 4 collection.

I imagine people on console might be happy about it. People on PC got options and many of them are still free.

With the CC they trying to introduce on it now, No it don't resonate with how I play and I don't need frankenmesh clothing and BB. It's needs to be new, at a good price and how I play my game, none of the packs I've seen do that.

If this is all the content we will be getting (i.e. R+L really was the last expansion) then honestly I am done buying Sims content entirely. I only own a couple of kits because I don't see them as a good value and it appears that this new store may mean even fewer items for the same cost. I sure do miss game packs and stuff packs.
I'm also unhappy with the split for the creator because it seems exploitive. I'm curious who decides the price of their pack? Them or EA? Are there minimum item counts for each pricing tier?

I wonder if this "split" so uneven because they are essentially creating a new dev team (even if it is a small team) dedicated to just to vet, test, possibly fix and approve/push out "Maker" content instead. If this is the case that worries me. I don't want an entire team working on this, if it was a few dev members a couple hours a week/several hours a month, on top of bug fixing and creation official content, sureโfine.
But you know they will be pressured to push out anything they think they can get money from (even if the aspiring worker has dreams and intends to make sure there is quality control and cohesion). Even some current kits are not cohesive in matching the game (one reason I don't buy creator created content).
Honestly, Kits made it really easy to not buy in Sims 4 since there is no CAStyle or unique premium items/objects. Even the most tempting Kit I have waited out for for cheaper prices/bundles, but now it looks like it is just going the other direction... more expensive and awkward to get.

Of course because the most interesting part of a marketplace is the large variety of choice.
I mean TS3 Store brought Sci-fi, Medieval, Circus, ... all these stuff that we never got in packs.

I absolutely will not buy from the marketplace. I just wish EA would hurry up and walk away from Sims, so I can mod it up to improve the game enough to actually play again. I haven't touched my game sims 2020 because I'm tired of the broken packs, broken game, broken updates breaking even more. I just want them to hurry and and walk away from Sims 4, stop updating it, and let me play my game. I'm hoping this Marketplace is the last "hurrah!" they give before giving up on the game.

It depends, honestly. I might buy kits from the store and some market packs if i feel like the price is fair.
