I haven't the foggiest of ideas. I would think that since it's the lesser of the payouts/rewards due to taking less time I would say that 15 energy is pretty fair. But now it's taking me more time to level my career goals. I have added career items to give me a boost, 2 items so far and it's still no help.

I'm having the same exact issue.The quick shifts are 38m long with my one sim whose in the restaurant career, but it takes more than 30/30 for me to complete it. I just used up his entire energy bar and he still has 3m left until completion.

My guess could be the higher the levels the harder it is to complete, hence needing more energy? I'm not sure but this is happening for me as well.

I think the energy must be to do with either levels or workplaces.One of my Sims takes 30/30 energy doing a quick shift in the coffee shop, he’s higher up than the one whose just started in the restaurant. That Sim takes 15/30 for a quick shift.

Could this have anything to do with a recent update?

I've noticed that when my sims level up from the 45 coin hobby/career quick shift, to the 112 coin shift, the shift takes longer. Is that what you're seeing?

That is what happens to me. It increases from 34 to 42 minutes for the shift.

I noticed the change when the sim leveled up from the 45 coin quick shift to the 112 coin quick shift.
The total number of XP (and shifts) does increase at every level, but as far as I can tell, the length of the shift and the energy used only changes once.
