The same things happening to me. No point in reinstalling your game cause that won't fix the issue! I've tried.

I'm having the same issue. I'm on a Samsung Note 8. If I'm understanding OS correctly, I'm running Samsung 8.0.0. I can't find my gamer ID number either. I've not been able to finish my daily check list or what my Sims were doing. I hope this error gets fixed soon. I don't want to miss out on a whole day. 

I’m having the same issue. I received the error/freeze about 15 minutes after updated the app. I get the freeze when I log in both from my iPhone X and from my iPad mini 4.

Same issue, have Pixel 2 phone.

I’m on Samsung Galaxy S8.  The trouble started this morning just after the update. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not solve the problem. Also, when reinstalling the app, a shortcut to the homescreen is not created. Please help

Exactly the same problem. Samsung Galaxy S5. Tried closing, restarting, nothing I do helps.

The issue is still occurring today, it’s been about 24 hours since I’ve been froze out of the game.

My game is frozen on the surprising choice animation when i launch it. 

I tried playing it on my other android phone, but nothing changed. I tried the suggested troubleshooting (clearing the cache, checked that everything is up to date, restarted the app, checked the connection, there werent any background apps running on both phones). Nothing helped...

Was very excited to see this update just now, downloaded it, restarted my phone, hoping my problem is fixed - But no, still stuck with that stupid “Surprising Choice” Screen! This is getting majorly frustrating...

I’m having the same issue. I play on an iPhone SE and I don’t know what my player ID is because this glitch is preventing me from entering the game to look. I only started playing the game three days ago, so I didn’t know to take my player ID down until it was too late. 

I did did everything I could think of to fix this. I closed out of the game and reopened, had a stable Wi-Fi connection, restarted my phone, upgraded my phone to iOS whatever-it-is, and deleted and reinstalled the app. Please help me figure out how to make it work.

Hi i have a problem with my Sims mobile. After the new update my screen is stuck on “ A surprising choice” it wont let me play the game. Earlier it was all good, now i go on it and that pops up. Is there anyway to make it go away?

mine is stuck too. I've tried doing all the clear cache etc, restarted my phone, even uninstalled and reinstalled but it hasn't fixed it.

Are all your apps fully updated?

How long has it been stuck? Mine cleared itself after the sim who had it pop up finished his 6hr event...

This screen popped up yesterday and I cannot close out of it. I have tried closing the app, restarting my phone, etc. and no change. I can’t play the game because I’m stuck on this screen. Can anyone help?!

Steps: How can we find the bug ourselves? I got the popup for "A Surprising choice..." and it never moved forward from that state ☹️. Since then I am seeing that popup. I have force closed the app and opened again, I also uninstalled the app and installed again and when I load the game with an existing progress I again see "A Surprising choice..." dialog AGAIN.
What do you expect to see? I expect to play the game normally lol I have already spent $5 and i am on level 20 so don't wanna lose the progress
