You may have had the “ special opportunity” dialogue pop up, and if you didn’t use the sims cash or cupcakes option to fulfil the request, your sim is affected badly for the next 8 hours. They will keep being sick for that time :(- Happens to me too, and it's well over 12 hours by now.
