i would suggest having no more than 3, 5 hearted heroes/villains/vigilantes (i use em as KO material, they can take a hit and deliver it, 1 per mob) - the only downside to having all heroes at 5 hearts is if you get the upgrade a fighter challenge you cant do it
- I've got 2 of each upgraded to 5 hearts, and the rest at 4 hearts. I can win all three fights as soon as they are available without healing. I don't see any reason to upgrade any more either.
The only thing a 5 heart fighter seems really good for is when you start against two felons of the same type. Then the 5 heart fighter can take out the first two felons and have one heart left. Otherwise, a 4 heart fighter can take out a 5 heart felon after a switch. And as you've noted a 3 heart fighter can take out a 5 heart felon at the start. (I don't like having my fighters "die" though I realize there's no penalty for it, other than a 5 heart fighter taking 5 hours to fully heal) - I had been wondering if I should upgrade all of mine too. I assume the item we use to upgrade will only be used for that. I have an excess of tech heroes and they are the only ones I haven't upgraded to 5 stars. Most of the time my 5 star heroes only take 4 stars in hits so it works out fine for all wins style and the 4 hour cycle.
- I upgrade as a way to get someone back in fighting shape without using up my bandaids.
- wadebear9 years agoRetired HeroI wish I hadn't upgraded any of my Heroes past 3 Hearts.
Upgrading your Heroes seems to upgrade the Felons to match.
I'm using the lose/win strategy as well. Send the Heroes with the fewest hearts to battle the first Felons and let them lose - unless it starts out with 2 Felons of a kind, then I send the weakest Hero to get them both.
And you can always Retreat and come back later to finish them if you have to.
Sometimes I'll have to use Science Water to finish them all off in one go, but I have 127 left. It depends on how the Felons are arranged.
It's a little harder in my #3 game since I only have 8 Heroes, but I still have 5,195 Trading Cards with 79 Science Waters left. I often have to retreat after losing one Heart and come back an hour later to finish the rest of the Felons off.
In my primary game I have 6,789 Trading Cards after buying one of everything in Act 2. Game #2 has 6,067 Cards and 158 Science Waters.
Oh, and I haven't used a Band-Aid since early in Act 1 except to fulfill a Challenge to Heal a Hero outside of Battle. - I max all, i ffwd all fights, i win all. I don't see any reason to have done otherwise.
- For me, it didn't really make a difference. I was getting 5 star fighters almost constantly even when my heroes were only at 4 stars. Besides, what else was I going to do with those stones? If it was like the Tap ball event where you earn bonus points for defeating higher level opponents it might have mattered more.
I still have a couple players not maxed out but yes, I upgraded everyone. I never have a fighter use more than 3 stars in a battle anyway so healing time is not an issue.
Just FYI, I am not using the lose/win strategy. Tried it once and the opponents disappeared after I lost...couldn't continue the battle! - I do not see why you wouldn't upgrade all the characters. I play to win and if you upgrade all characters and properly assigned to have the advantage, then you will not lose more that 3 hearts at a time which will give you plenty of time to fully recoup until the next battle 4 hours later.
What else are you going to do with the "crystals"? - I also was going to upgrade all my fighters to full. As someone else stated, a well planned battle, you will only have to send in 2 fighters. I've done that and used the automated battle. An extra hour doesn't hurt me anyways as I'm not logging in every 4 hours to begin with. So it makes more sense to use less fighters, then it's less taps. Less is more for me. I only use the healing items for social battles, which seems I need to use some daily. I can't wait to get the level 5 purple fighter and it will speed things up a lot. Having a single purple fighter against 3 oranges is a tough match and lots of healing.
