- wadebearRetired HeroThe problem with this event (and all the others I've played) is that it there's too much randomness in the generation of crafting materials. Oh whoopee - tapping those 40 Bob Clones got me 4 Theater Masks and MORE CORN.
Before I learned of 'fight club' I did an estimate of how many Theater Masks I was likely to get based on how many I was getting per day. According to my results I might have gotten enough to craft one of everything - and that with playing once an hour all day long plus getting up in the middle of the night to do a round of tapping. Sheesh!
Meanwhile... Corn running out my ears. Onto the floor. Out the door. Down the sidewalk. And spilled onto the street.
What't the point in giving us gobs and gobs of one crafting item that we can't possibly use up? It would make sense if we could covert or trade it with other players (or both). I had my fingers crossed that the Farmers Market would be an avenue to do one or both of those. Convert at a loss ratio - say 2 corn for 1 Fertilizer, 3 corn per DNA, 4 corn per Theater Mask (etcetera). Or use it as a portal to trade with other players... (not that trading Corn would be any use since everybody has gobs of it...).
Ok, done venting. (For now...) - All the more reason I'm sick to death of the crafting. I was about to go into a rant on that, but it's been said way too many times already.
Maybe if EA focused on making the events fun instead of a grinding chore (or a rigged roulette wheel), people wouldn't feel like they need to exploit a glitch to enjoy it. wadebear wrote:

Actually for a player who didn't use the glitch (I am one), theater masks have been the easiest to accumulate because the payouts for those tasks are so high once you upgrade the Opera House a bit. I certainly haven't had to get up in the middle of the night either to accumulate more than enough masks to craft one of each of those prizes. The worst has been DNA because the payouts for those tasks are comparatively low compared to the fertilizer, corn, and theater mask tasks - I'm still a couple thousand DNA short of crafting the last item (Gas n Grub) but will still get there with a few days to spare assuming the crafting continues until June 4.
There did seem to be an imbalance in the crafting materials for this event - as you say, too much corn compared to the other crafting items. It isn't really randomness though, it's just how EA decided to design the event.- I was aware of EB, but my wifi is so poor I was not really able to use it at all. If I go back and forth between the neighbor screen and my home town more than once or twice, then my game freezes and crashes. And I have also been so busy with work, that I just didn't really have the time or motivation to sit and crank out the infinite Bobs. For me it was just easier to log in, collect my event currency and reset the character tasks, reset Cecil's tasks, and tap the Bob clones on screen, then log off. So I have about 22,000 music notes and have crafted one of everything except the flower wall. I am working on the fertilizer for it now. But I am not sure if I will craft the wall, because I would rather have several catcus patches, than just one or two walls.
Wadebear, I do really like your idea of using the Farmer's Market as a currency exchange center. Have you ever played Catan? It is such a great board game, and there are several different editions. Anyway, as you mentioned, in Catan, you can exchange a certain number of any item for another item. So we could take say, 100 corn, and exchange that for 10 fertilizer, or whatever. I would love if they had incorporated this idea into the event. It would be original, and would create a great way to use all of the event currency up as each player choose to do so. bradyc79 wrote:

Love Catan. I have a version for the PC as well as the long and short version board games.- I would say I crafted one of everything that I wanted. I had no interest in the flower walls. Besides, to me, for some of the craftables there's no point in crafting just one. Who wants only one flower wall? Or one cactus patch? Or one cane field for that matter?
I managed to get:
Two extra opera seats
Nine cane fields
a smokehouse
the decoy
the houseboat
Gas n Grub
Farmer's market
welcome Bob sign
Still aiming for one more ticket booth and maybe a couple of cactus patches.
I did get a notification about FC from a very thoughtful board member, but I'm currently on vacation visiting family and barely had enough time to log on to clear and assign tasks so I never took advantage of the glitch. Would have been nice to have an opportunity to get more cactus patches but I think I can live with what I did get from grinding. Neglecterino wrote:

Nice!! Catan won board game of the year! I see that on many of the boxes. But I have never played on PC, that would be an interesting version. I still get together with my friends and we play some Catan, every month or so we will play, different versions. The Seafarer's edition is longer, but we still play it every other time or two.
But do you agree, that the exchange method set up for Catan would be a nice addition to the TSTO event, if EA keeps crafting for the next one? I think it would be difficult to include the barter and trading with other players portion of the game. But the flat exchange, with the set rate, would work well, in my opinion.bradyc79 wrote:

Yes, I agree that that would be a nice variation on crafting. But I'd rather see non-crafting events for awhile.- niahuntNew RookieI was also not aware of this "endless bob" glitch.
Managed to craft everything apart from the Welcome Bob sign (found DNA very hard to collect decent amount of). moelleb wrote:
Congrats for getting everything.
However, I don't think it's fair to ask who obtained everything by grinding alone and excluding "fight club" members. IMHO fight club members played the hardest because they had to constantly play to clear bobs. I found out a few days before the patch, and got burned out trying to take advantage of the glitch.
I think it's a fair question. I knew about the glitch, and only checked in a few times a day for 15 or 20 minutes each, when the bobs were plentiful - otherwise it wasn't worth the effort. And I always like to know how the freemium players do, too, since I tend to throw donuts at problems.
Yes - congrats, OP
