I agree. I feel like I'm floundering a bit. Also I have a feeling I'm being left behind. It looks like I should have hit the ground running when the update hit. I was busy and didn't get the building until the second day. It's not a great feeling thinking you're behind already.
Same here. Between waiting the extra few hours for the Android release and going to last night's Mets game to see Harvey smoke the Phillies, I fell a little behind and am only on my third Cecil task right now. I have no idea how this event is supposed to work :)
I'm finding that throwing donuts at all I don't understand helps.
I hope this doesn't turn into another bobbins gate- Yep....Don't know what the heck I'm doing either
- Agreed. Totally confused by this one! There's only 1 or 2 prizes I want any way and I'm headed overseas for 10 days next week with no internet so I'll get what I can and then probably sit most of this event out (first time I've ever done that! ).
- This event is retarded. I am actually hoping they allow us to downgrade and play without it. I do not care about bob nor any of his family... i care less about monsarno and the craftables are just eye sores. The drop rates for the crafting items is impossible. I dont think EA actually played the version before release. Do you realize you cannot level the building WITHOUT sending people on tasks that are 8 or 16 HOURS each.. for 9! At 300.. that means almost 3 full days of tasks before you can get to level 3.. OR you spend donuts (which i refuse to do, since it is a ridiculous prize set)... i got to level 51 (just this morning) from Dec 30, 2014.. and i fear that is all i care to do. The complexity and stupidity that went into this update has made me lose all interest in the game. Nice job EA. The only way through it I fear, is for them to give EVERY PLAYER 100 DONUTS PER DAY UNTIL THE MADDNESS ENDS. This is clearly a way for them to sell donuts for money and as a player, it is insulting.
Rant over... anyone else figure out what happens when you finish your 4 cecil tasks and you are left with no other way to get crafting items for the rest of the day? - I don't know yet either - but it cracks me up! Plus kind of right up my organic, grass-fed, free-range, yadda yadda alley.
I thought we were getting a bunch of mutant seeds so I placed 5 in one town (you're welcome). 1 left  so I bought more... - Just noticed Tstoaddicts posted a guide on Leveling Up Monsarno Research: Act One. This clears up a fair bit of confusion for me.
Summary: Monsarno only levels up to 7 for Act 1, each time giving more characters the ability to earn corn and fertilizer. Looks like the way to earn enough to craft is to level this up and get all possible characters out earning event currency.
Some have mentioned leaving one character of each group free to ensure you can do Cecil's daily tasks. I think I will gamble on this and send them all anyways, should be able to store someone's building to cancel only them out. - My strategy is to get the research center to level 3 to continue in the questline and then safe for the farmers market. I just hate how late the neighbor portion of the event starts.

Since I started this thread I kinda thought that may be the way to go too.- I can't figure out how to get corn! I've been getting shovels and fertilizer but am stumped on how to get corn.
- I have millions of questions about it. It turns out that I screwed up by not putting all of my dimwits on task, and I would fall behind by 8 hours. The cost of rushing was 1 donut, so I hope they were just teaching me a lesson.
I think you should upgrade your building first before crafting, because I think you also get a couple of crafting items for free on some of the levels.
Where are we supposed to get corn and fertilizer besides characters tasks? I don't know. I found a couple of mutant pears with mouths sent by a neighbor, so how do those fit in?
