Debate--bring back limited time items

I have no problem with limited time items coming back. In fact I'm quite expecting once we start getting into the game's second year and loop back over previous holidays like Halloween and Christmas. They can mix the old and new content in such a way that long time players will have something new to explore while also giving both old and new players a chance at some of the content that they may have missed last time.

I think the way they handled Fat Tony is a great example of how it should work. He was a promotional character, so they brought him back with a Level Update. Likewise, it sounds like Kang is coming back soon as a Premium Item...which would be fair considering that was what he was before.

I just think I should get a bit of a bonus for giving up almost a year of time to this game.

You say "giving up" like you haven't gotten any amount of entertainment out of the deal.

Replaying events such as Halloween and Christmas with a combination of old and new content would be a great way to ensure they don't run out of ideas that could be used to add more levels.

I like that there are some items that are exclusive to long-term players, like the Duff Racer, and the Cool Brown House/Hipster Homer.

I think they did it right with Barney. Players who were playing at the right time got him for free as part of a seasonal quest-line, and people who came along later were able to buy him for donuts.

Although I can see getting a bonus would be nice from playing for so long, i don't see them doing that because I have never heard of EA doing that for any other game out there. I played other games for years and never got any kind of bonus for it. They already give extra donuts for leveling up from continuous play. But I do wish there were better bonuses.

Regarding bringing back limited time items: Why not? I mean it's not the other players' fault for missing out on these items. They were introduced late in the game, why can't they have access to these items like others were. If its holiday stuff, I can understand. Theres no point. But other limited time items, that's a bummer. Is it because they dont have room on their servers for all this stuff?

It would be nice if EA rewarded loyalty, but we all know EA will do whatever makes them money.

I could make a long argument here, but I'll just sum it up...

If they don't re-release some of the MANY limited time items from the past, that leaves only one place to find them, a hacked version of the game. This is the last thing EA wants to promote. In my opinion, if they don't re-release certain items, they are simply losing easy money. EA wouldn't allow that to happen.


Best returning user reward you could ask for is all the donuts you have received over time. Something new players envy. Anyone know how many times it popped up and given you like 10 free donuts, like whacking day... Wasn't Fat Tony free (easily a 100+ donut value)?

"Miss it, miss out" this catchphrase suits this conversation well.

I have everything in the game, so makes no difference to me, but it's a bit unfair to Android users. They didnt miss out on the items, they were never given a chance to get them. Why should they miss out on things because EA was late in releasing the game on their platform?

I'll go first:

I Don't want EA to re-add the items because I have been playing since the day of the rerelease of the app in August (I was waiting all summer) and have all of the limited time items that are free (the holidays and the episode/game tie ins) and I think because we have been playing longer we should get some bonus items.

I started the game in September but only played it occasionally an have brought about 20 plus friends to this game! I missed out on items cause I did not play at the time, but I totally agree with you it was my fault!
But that is pretty pathetic that you think you deserves bonus for playing longer if others should not get the rest of the old stuff!
There is tons of stuff I wish I had but o well!!!!
