Device not compatible

Unfortunately, it sounds like your device isn't compatible with the game anymore and won't be again. :? What device do you have?
  • Yeah I wasnt sure when he told me about the emulator. Either way that didnt solve it, says its not working on that either so im thinking its not my device.
  • Truly sorry to hear, abenhart. I experienced something similar with a different EA game awhile back, & can easily empathize.

Nope unfortunately. Theres some software called bluestacks the ea rep told me about to get android apps to work on the computer. Downloading it now to see if tapped out will load on it. Kxtr, My tab 2 is 7.0, so you have some room to spare it looks like ha.

Wait, what? I had a message from here deleted because it mentioned using an emulator - the reason given was that since emulators are not supported, we're not allowed to discuss them here. But if an EA rep is out and out recommending one....

Was wondering about this as well...
  • 1. Yes they will censor talk about emulators here.
    2. One android device that worked before, but now doesn't? That is highly suspect.
    3. Id try a complete reinstall of the app, then of android. Try aosp (cyanogenmod) before writing off the device.
    4. I would have set this thread up a little more clearly to ask if anyone else is on your exact device and if they're playing successfully.
    5. EA support is poop. Don't accept their word as final.

    Good luck.

You think EA Support is poop? Try YouTube Support. I have purchased 11 movies over the years, and now when I try to play them I get errors. I called support and they said it's a known issue if you watch them full screen. They had me try Chrome (I'm a Firefox user). Still errors on my laptop. Chrome gives errors on my PC, but works ok on Firefox. Tech told me "That's too bad, just watch on your PC." Then hung up!
  • I have this problem as well, i play on a chinese phone and the play store says it's not compatible (i have an octacore  ).
There is a lot of options, you just need to find the apk of the game, there are programs that allows you to download the apk from the play store and then you just copy it to your phone, or use some complements to chrome that do the same. Also there is a program called racoon, but didn't worked with this update.
    Hope this helps.

    :)

No, if you think EA Support is bad try Hughesnet support. The problem MUST be with our computer. Never mind that we have 5 desktops, 5 laptops, 6 tablets / phones - the problem MUST be with our computer. Even though the problem doesn't occur when we take our laptops / tablets / phones to other networks.

The last time I called they said our satellite dish was showing as out of alignment (I was having trouble logging in to ONE specific website) and that for just $125 they could have a technician come out and re-align it for us...

Shortly after we got our most recent equipment upgrade for faster service we stopped being able to get our email from our secondary provider. It took a month of repeated calls before they finally admitted that the problem was on their end and fixed it. We had to set up Google Mail to retrieve our email from the provider then download our mail from Google Mail in the mean time.

I was in panic mode so I didn't really think it through to that extent haha. But I was able to finally find someone who's tablet worked to play (they may not be getting their tab back till event is over...) So I have something to use to at least get the event going for the moment.

I had initially tried unistalling and reinstalling and when I unistalled it I couldn't install it back due to the "device isnt compatible" notification. Moments before checking for the update I had the game open and was using it so I wasn't sure where the error was. I keep checking back to see if it has changed at all but it's still the same. I'll have to look into aosp.

I did manage to get back on track on the borrowed device so as long as I can get the prizes before the event is over I can live with not playing for awhile afterwards, too much to miss out on.
  • Brings back memories of 2012. Had an iPod Touch 2nd gen and they stopped supporting it and couldn't tap on it. Luckily got an iPod 4th gen and was able to continue.

Unfortunately we live in an age where all devices need to be replaced after a few years simple because the apps/games get more complex, they require certain specs. It is also impossible for everybody (EA, Google, Samsung, Apple, Microsoft, etc) to support every known device to man. There has to be a cut off for support as majority of people purchase the latest devices, or at least upgrade within a few to several years.

Basically the issue is that the latest OS that Google, Apple, Microsoft, etc just can't be supported on the old devices. Then the apps have to support a minimum version of the OS for security reasons. So the retro devices can't get the latest OS, then the apps cannot work on said device.

I know it's a pain in the butt to purchase new devices, not is it a security issue for your personal data. Any gamer understands if you want the latest games, you need the latest devices. Doesn't matter if they are mobile games, PC games, or console games. All 3 categories, you need the latest device to play the games.
