I think the monorail is inevitable

Hmmm. Maybe you'll only be able to put the rails on the supposed new strips of land.

It's going to happen. It will most likely just be the station and/or the wreckage so don't worry about rails.
The interesting thing will be to see how EA can make an event out of that. Especially with a Phil Hartman character being so central.

I think it could be interesting.if it is done right. I don't see the land issue myself,but looking at some of neighbours towns they use ten times the space needed for each building,putting each building on its own "square" of land,but each to their own.

One thought that does occur that a monorail running around the town would require a lot of reorganization of buildings,essentially having to move everything almost,so maybe the nuke option is a prelude to it?

I personally think the concept would be a bigger disaster than the Krustyland expansion Valentines Day and Easter events combined. Aside from the numerous inevitable crashes the game would lag like crazy. This would lead to more and more users getting frustrated and abandoning the game.

If it comes I will build it. Any new content is welcome.

Crashes, freezes and lag will increase with any growth of Springfield. More land will cause more problems in this respect then adding the monorail IMO.

I could see this being a quest to build and complete the monorail before the event is over. Then at the end of the event the monorail tracks would crash once you ran it for the first time. The station could be the sole surviving piece.
