- everyone assumes the "stackables" as they are now called are glitches, I say they never were glitches but wrote into the game and slipped in during one of those updates that appeared to do nothing. A glitch is something that happens in the game that was not intended to happen. EA usually fixes those pretty quick, the stackables have been around long enough now that they obviously are not glitches but written into the game. They are not glitches people.
- I think there is a difference between a glitch and an exploit. A glitch is where something has an unexpected result, an exploit is where you find a way to FORCE an unexpected result.
Personally, I feel that this game generates a LOT of income for EA, they have a development team and testers working on it - if they miss something and users can exploit it from their device without manipulating the game's code - I don't have a problem.
I do have a problem with people hacking and deliberately altering game files to circumvent the way the game has been designed to generate revenue. All that will happen as a result of people hacking games to avoid paying for content is that the content will become more expensive to cover loss of revenue.
House farming, in a way, is a bit of an exploit. I don't really have a problem with it, i just think it makes your town look **** MaxxSpider wrote:

so if i have a glitch that allows me to get the prize i want from a mystery box if i got a mystery box in a mystery box then that's ok?
I think I know what you're talking about, I've seen someone mention something about it. I've never gotten it to work, though. (Even tried borrowing an idevice and it didn't seem to work.) So yeah, either it is a glitch some people have or I'm doing something wrong when trying to replicate the results.
Seeing as how those boxes are so full of misery, I wouldn't begrudge someone being able to get good stuff once in awhile.
the old one for ios devices has been fixed.
you actually need 2 devices to be able to do it.
its not that often that i get a mystery box in a mystery box and even when i do it takes a lot of patience to be able to get the prize i want.
some people would say its not worth it.
I am pretty sure EA knows about this and they probably don't care because of how much work it actually is and not worth their time to try to fix it.Undaunted-001 wrote:

better than visiting neighbors outside of an event.- The fact that there have been numerous threads on EAs OWN FORUM with actual thread titles asking how (or telling how) to take advantage of these glitches is enough to convince me that EA doesn't give two hoots. True, it would take some doing to reprogram, but for crying out loud all they need to do is instruct the mods to remove the threads. That wouldn't stop the tapping, but at least it would put a lid on the widespread promotion of doing so. (Heck, they have to moderate us for giving out info for finding Spanser. Are we seriously thinking they wouldn't be instructed to delete our glitch threads if EA disliked this?)
I think EA simply sees it as a way to encourage bored regulars to sign on every day, and to get their friends to sign in to collect those handshakes. A player who is not signed in = a player who is not deciding to buy any premium items. GamerGD3 wrote:
No, people use in game glitches all the time. Mario Kart 7 there was a short cut that skipped 2 laps - didn't stop people from trying to use it (been patched a long time now).
Oh, how I hated that. Playing by myself it was fine, but racing against others online? If you didn't take the short cut, then you had no way to keep from being dead last every single time. And of course everyone always picked that course, so you got stuck doing it over and over again.
But that was a competitive game, whereas this isn't. That's partly why I don't think of stackables as cheating. It doesn't really affect me if someone else participates in the stackables (other than my friends, that is).
Plus, as has been said, I'm not entirely sure it's a glitch and not more of an Easter egg.isittooearly wrote:

These stacking "glitches" have been in the game long enough that EA could have removed them if they saw a problem. They don't lose EA any money, so I see no real or ethical problem with utilizing them. Hacking and cheating to get donuts is a different story and is cheating.
Hacking is cheating yes
but if there is a glitch that is in game that can give you free donuts why is that wrong.
where is the line drawn?
using the tile glitch give you lots of XP which gives you donuts as well.
The line is drawn at actively manipulating the code of the game to get donuts. Anything that happens within the game through no fault of your own due to apathy, error, or by EA's design is perfectly legit as far as I'm concerned.
This. Especially the statement in bold. Actively manipulating the games' code is like pro-athletes taking steroids or hormones to get an extra edge.
I agree. Even so, Last year about this time there was a "harp glitch" with the bonus level up that kept players from logging in. Finally there was a way to get out of it and get some extra donuts, too, if you did it right. I think it was just compensation for all the aggravation.mrnerdstrom wrote:
