Turning notifications on did not help.
I actually got one notification after 8 hrs between logins, and there were no handshakes, not even for the name in the notification.
I just resubmitted my device model number, OS, version number, available memory, name, rank, and serial number so well see what they suggest this time.
Hey neighbor - i've been visiting you every day without fail!
Hopefully there will be some kind of update later this week that fixes this.- The only way I've been able to consistently receive handshakes is to always log out of Origin before quitting the game. It's a pain to have to log in every time I open the app, but it seems to resolve the missing handshakes problem.
I think someone mentioned in another thread that this is somehow connected to the "Cannot Connect to Server" screen that pops up every time the game launches. I'm guessing that if you're logged in to Origin when you tap "Retry," the server resets/clears your neighbor interactions.
The thing is, now I no longer get push notifications for neighbor visits (maybe because I'm always logged out). mikeropology wrote:

This what I've been doing. Just log right out of your town when you are not playing. It is a pain to sign in each time but getting all handshakes now.- I'm sincerely curious. How are you certain that you are not missing any handshakes?
I know you have NEVER mentioned this next issue, but I strongly believe we should warn them not to use handshakes as any reliable gauge to drop neighbors. Even if they seem to get more handshakes after logging out completely and back in, it is no guarantee that there are no missing handshakes. It sure doesn't make a whit of difference at all in my case. And, remember, I'm tracking towns that I am personally in total control of, obviously logging out entirely because -- of course -- there is no way to change to a new town without completely logging out of the first one. In my opinion, ten feeders represent a fairly significant pool of data ... If eight of ten are missing the mark thats an 80% unreliability. annettemarc wrote:

Oh, logging out is certainly not a fix for this problem.. just a stopgap that seems to work better than doing nothing at all.
And I'm certain I'm not seeing 100% of my neighbor interactions. I used to visit my town every 12hrs and get well over 30 handshakes each time. Now I'm getting anywhere from 9 to 15 using log-out log-in method (still every 12hrs).
Until this is properly fixed, handshakes are basically useless for determining which neighbors to delete. Better to check your neighbors "last login" time to see if they're even playing the game anymore.- I seem to be getting a fair few handshakes, but no way to tell if I'm getting all of them.
Won't be deleting anyone for not visiting any time soon! - OMG! I am *so* glad I checked this forum and saw this thread. I was about to delete some neighbours, but I knew there was a handshake problem, so I hesitated to do so. Since I play on an Android & visit another of my towns on an iDevice, I thought it might have been an issue with cross platforms as I don't see the taps I make from this account in my other town. I guess I'll just wait it out until the next event at least. :)

Thank you. I was worried. Yesterday morning, when I logged in I had a truckload of handshakes. Similar to my normal between-events number in the past. I was ecstatic, thinking EA had fixed this problem. Then this morning I only had very few. Six in total all morning, and nothing in the past few hours at all... Have a few notifications but no handshakes. Logged in and out repeatedly on three devices 2 androids and an iPad ... And nuthin shows up.
I'm feeling unloved. ;)- got a lot today but i'll have to see what happens tomorrow because i don't think it'll be fixed until they fix that server error thing when you first start the game.
- Annettemarc I visited you about 30 minutes ago. Hope you got some handshakes.
I've gotten messages that friends are visiting. But no handshakes.
I've contacted customer support twice. Still no response. I'm still waiting to receive a response to a support request I submitted during the Easter disaster. Not good customer service.
If we get an update tomorrow I hope these glitches are fixed.
