Neighbours system how does it work?

Thank you, that's what I thought....I'm seriously addicted to this game already & most of my buildings have $ signs now as I collect them all when having my morning coffee & they are reset for the following morning :) I resisted this morning so I could ask the question but just knowing they are there floating ready to be collected is driving me crazy...I need more neighbours! :)

Hello and welcome, great info by Tazzy as usual. Please resist the urge to clear your town! I have been playing for a "very" long time and still encounter friends towns that are cleared. Sorry my friends list is full but there are a lot of people looking for keeners like you. Have fun and keep tapping.

I'm sorry to disagree, but when you're actively playing in your town, I don't think you need to leave anything untapped. If you have no dollar signs over your buildings, your neighbours will still be able to graffiti your Elementary School, Town Hall, Police Station, and Moe's Tavern. The key is to have enough buildings and Brown Houses, so that when you're away from your town, your neighbours will have something to tap. But if you're actively in there, just make sure your graffiti is cleared.

Thank you for the welcomes & the advice. I've added myself to the neighbours wanted lists & had quite a few added today so that's good. I've left most of my buildings untapped today & just collected the handshakes & been collecting the brown houses & kwickimart as they regenerate quickly so will still be there for new neighbours as I add them. I've come across a few neighbours with very little to tap, with 2 of them with small towns there has only been 1 available tap & I've had to go back later to get the others but I guess they are doing as I did at the start & tapping the $ as soon as they come up to get the money to expand their towns so no hardship there. I enjoy redesigning my town so I'm not bored waiting for handshakes :) There are some really amazing towns & would love to get enough money & land to to make mine as nice....something to aim for :)

Leave some for people to tap, if you can.
I have 100 friends and it's impossible for me to always leave 300 things free to tap. I don't even know if I have that many.
I usually keep family houses, kwikemart and other fast generating things free (and they don't generate that much, which is not that important in higher levels), but I clear most of my town twice a day - in the morning and after work. By then it is almost filled up by handshakes, because you most likely have friends in different timezones.

Thanks TT_degnan. I gave in to my temptation to tap & did the same, I'm saving for wolfcastles mansion so grabbed the money, was hoping to start the build before going to sleep but haven't quite made enough money yet. I've sent a neighbour request :)

Suetopia. Thank you, I'm looking forward to Jims reply now as he has been mentioned a few times :). I've gone from 5 neighbours to 52 today so good experience so far :)

When I was lower levels, I needed to collect as much rent as possible in order to afford the next level's buildings and characters -- because more buildings and characters = generating higher daily income!

I tried to leave enough buildings to tap to accommodate 10 or 12 visitors at any one time, knowing I'd be clearing it out several times each day, and that visitors are in different timezones around the world and visit in "waves" during prime times. (That's 30-36 buildings)

KwikEMart, KrustyBurger, Simpsons, Flanders, Cletus farm, school, police station and Town Hall are easy. I set up a cluster of about 24 brown houses with trees around them to look a little less like a housefarm and a little more like a campground. I left them uncollected so neighbors have something to tap. Like this one I have now in a secondary town. It's not pretty, but it's a compromise.



BETWEEN EVENTS, in my opinion, you need to take advantage of being able to collect as much rent income as possible.

DURING EVENTS, you will very likely need to leave buildings (or characters) uncollected so your neighbors can win whatever prizes there are for that event.

Once I got about 30 or 40 characters, it was easier to leave some of the buildings alone. And now that I'm over 100 characters, I hardly ever collect at all.

I'm not sure how to post a photo on here but I've created a little camp site with my brown houses, they sit facing the centre which has the first Christmas tree & a little camp fire with a play area to the side & a kwickimart for holiday makers to shop in :). It takes up quite a bit of land but looks much nicer than house farms. There's 7 brown houses, the log cabin that smoke comes out of when tapped, nelsons house & cleatus farm are to the side as if they used to be part of the camp site at some point & my krustyland bus stop is just outside the site so again looks like it should be there to take holiday makers to the theme park :) I've done something similar with my skips diner size shops, they all sit around a fountain to make a little mini mall type area with the peanut cart too, again it takes up a lot of my available land so these are the only 2 big "designed" areas at the moment. I've expanded the land around Krusty burger & glup&blow to make proper drive thrus with the snow plow at the Krusty burger window so it looks like they are ordering. I 'borrowed' that idea from a showcase picture. I've just moved my prison & hospital as they were infront of Burns mansion which I didn't think he would be too happy about...can't believe I even thought that but it made me giggle.
