Random people visiting my Springfield

i don;t pay enough attention to notice but i'll see about it today. unless i'm being hacked, i welcome everyone in my town.

I'm making this up since I have no reason to think either will work but they can't hurt to try...

FIRST, Send them an invite. You'll get the "pending invite" screen. Then hit the red "cancel" button, so they never actually see the invite.
SECOND, If that doesn't work (e.g., you see them again) send them an invite and wait until they accept, and then "unfriend" them.

It is possible that you come up in their friends list as they scroll through and they're as freaked out about you as you are about them.

I also get notification of visits from random strangers. They aren't on my friends list (current, before, or EVER) and they keep "visiting my Springfield." However, they don't actually visit my Springfield, for when I click the notification, there isn't any indication that they click anything or whatever. I get notifications of them "visiting" all the time, even while I'm playing the game. It's ANNOYING. I already turn off the push notification and yet it still happens, someone please tell me how to fix this!!! I already email EA for help, but they replied "Anyone connected online can visit your Springfield. This shows how Beautiful your Springfield is that even strangers are interested in it. Today, I was visited by 'FRINK'!!!! You and I aren't neighbors, and with all the players there are, HOW IN THE WORLD could BOTH of us be visited by the same non-neighbor???

This is weird. Very, very weird!!! :shock:

I have also been visited by FRINK, also by FRIEND and a few other people and not just once but numerous times!! I'm glad to see I'm not the only one. And it's only been since be been on this forum. Ever since the fiasco they called the Xmas event, and me coming on here to express my severe disappointment in the issues the game had causing many of us not to be able to finish the event, I have had these two names plus a few others keep showing up in my town. I go to try to remove them from my neighbors because they keep vandalizing my buildings and I CANT! They're not my friends to remove!! I don't know what to do, my town was just starting to get better since I had removed the people before that were vandalizing me, now I can't even remove them... I'm just really getting sick of this game not working correctly! GET IT TOGETHER EA THIS IS RIDICULOUS!! Put some of that money you make from donut sales into the workings of this game, and not just more buildings you can sell for donuts I'm talking about bugs and connectivity issues. :roll:

Are you familiar with the concept of "bots"? Computer-users, not actual people? That's what these are.

They are part of the game system for people who don't create neighbors. If you have neighbors, they are not really needed but there's no way to shut them off.

Consider them gift taps from the system. They are free extra handshakes and nothing to get so worked up about.


EA has plenty of bugs to correct, this is true. But at least this one is a benefit, not a detriment to game play.

Forgive me if this has been mentioned, but I wonder if "Frink" is a neighbor from Facebook. I have always used Origin, but recently logged in via FB, and found those who I am friends with on FB and who play the game, but I notice their names appear as they do on Facebook, and not their Origin version. For example, my wife's town now says her FB name in my neighbor list instead of her Origin name. Could these 2 ways of logging in be clashing with each other? I never see my FB friends visit.

If you understood what I posted, high five. I'm sure there was a better way to say that.

i get "visted" by myself meany times 0_0 its so strage haveng <insert your name here> has viseted your springfield, i seem to get that more ofton when i swich from main to alternate, but it happens out of the blue on its own too.

Don't forget there are two places to turn off the notifications. In the game itself, and in your app settings for your device. I've turned them both off.

I've actually turned off all notifications. On my device they cause game crashes when they arrive from the google play system servers.

I haven't had that happen recently, but it has happened to me. The other morning as I was tapping through my town (after signing in because my town had not been saved an other device) I got a notice that my town was signed into another device - and it shut me down. No idea what that was about since all my devices were with me and asleep other than the one I was playing on. Nightmares ensued.
