- I don't like the third new option for tunnel 14. Is that speculation or canon? I already have all three items, and plenty of the new third item from last year, like the candy canes, angels, festive bells, and toy soldiers. The new players are at least getting something they don't have. Not really upset it's just a tad boring. Also yes I think the wheel should have had an animation that when clicked destroyed itself. Or a permanent task "make homer destroy wheel", with animation.

No. Being an event-specific item and a very basic decoration lights should not be a prize. They should be normal items for purchase.wildcat2k wrote:
Lights-skins should have been available for purchase with in-game money (not donuts) from the very beginning. As in the very first Christmas event. It's such a basic holiday decoration it's shameful they made it a prize/premium.
So the lights are a prize for sending people on quest tasks, as opposed to being able to buy them for in game currency (which is accumulated through building payouts... and sending people on tasks). Either way, the lights are generally not what would be considered premium (unless they are for a premium building like Frink's lab). You can make your town very festive without spending any real money, provided you're willing to do some tapping. Which shouldn't be an issue in a game called Tapped Out.
Making them prizes was the cheapest excuse for not offering something better. I mean it's literally the least they could have done for a so called prize. Which they did.- A couple good things on the way, based on what I've read. But a lot of junk.
I'm really surprised we haven't seen the "festive" guy with the kitschy store who saved homer from the reindeer. Maybe there's a new level too. - I don't understand why getting a lawn ornament from a tunnel that I got last year isn't made available from the store after I win it. Is there a shortage? One candy cane per person. I've read there's one or two decent things coming up, but for someone that has nearly everything from previous years, these decent things take a long time to become available...
I'm guessing the cat lady Christmas house skin will go direct to my inventory for tunnel 13 as I already have the other and don't have the cat lady house.
Tunnels 15, 16, 18 & 19 are the only ones left I have a chance of getting something useful in - For anyone who's been playing for awhile this event is pretty worthless thus far. Definitely my least favorite Christmas event.
EA could have done a lot better. Disappointing. dhfjhvgjhvhjfg wrote:

Yep, I'll also be receiving the Cat Lady House skin (and Apu's Apartment skin) and I don't have either building. So I guess those prizes will essentially amount to winning nothing. I checked another site to see what the prizes are supposedly going to be for phase two and there are a few nice-looking things there, but not a lot. Generally speaking, there's not very much that's new this Christmas, a lot of stuff is recycled from the past, and it's heavy on the premium items compared to past years. I'm also surprised that the little prizes aren't at least being given multipliers. I guess this is the new reality of TSTO.- after the tunnel is completed do we get another set of tunnels to complete in phase 2

14 is Mr Plow
It's not actually Mr. Plow- it's Barney's Plow King truck. I WISH it was the Mr. Plow truck!! I've already got the Plow King skin/truck and Homer's Mr. Plow skin but that truck has been elusive! Hoping it's coming in phase two!!xLiMiiiTzx wrote:
I cannot understand how anyone but the people who haven't played a Christmas event before can be enjoying this.
The quest finished, or paused or whatever you want to call it after just a few days, the prizes for collecting presents so far have been very poor, and all there is to do is send a few people on a set task every day to collect a candy cane which I have enough of from last year. There are a few good things coming but overall it has been very very boring so far. Just nothing to do
Yes, I thought my game was broken. The dialogue just came to an abrupt halt. I was so confused. I was like, "There's no way that this it it."- Though I agree that there is something unsatisfying about the pace of this event and Halloween, I can't blame the devs for experimenting with ways to make events more enjoyable and longer-lasting. The old formula of having players finish a linear quest, then do the exact same thing every day for weeks until they win everything needed improving.
If the devs are reading this thread, my strongest suggestion is that they spend more time studying Family Guy: TQFS. I play TSTO and FG, and while I'm loyal to TSTO, I'm not going to lie, Family Guy's "game play" formula is objectively 100 times better than TSTO's. They succeed in getting me to set tasks and watch the clock because there is always something new to work toward, and the way you work toward each new character, skin, or prize is different.
Fortunately, most of the concepts, especially a task-based materials system to unlock prizes / quests could be implemented into TSTO. I think they're trying with the phased events, but right now it comes off as same-old--just broken into unsatisfying pieces to last longer.
