- Okay but if I've had my fill is there a way to get some of that money back by selling a town? Has anyone successfully done that on here like Wolrd of Warcraft?

I've heard of people doing so with other games, but not with TSTO. Not to be preachy, but I assume you realize that doing so violates EA's TOS.- Welcome back KrustyBrand. I remember you we're having problems with your town. Did they straighten out with this last update?

Thanks. Although I find it mildly galling to compliment EA, this last update really did stabilize my town. In addition, sometime last month I finally did what I said I was never going to do and scaled back my town by stripping out a ton of decorations (mostly shrubs and fences). It's still a fairly complicated town and I'm ever so slowly moving toward my goal of buying all of the property lots.Kahnuck wrote:

Here's an idea: Learn how to save your money instead of giving in to temptations. Especially if you're going to constantly poor decisions down the road.

I don't where in the hell the phantom anger ninja comment came from but yes when I spend a good deal of money on a game and it doesn't work the normal world gives refunds. What do they do on Phantom Anger Ninja Planet?joshhuffman wrote:

I get the frustration on your part, josh. (Really!) Your original post wasn't terribly specific, but it sounded as though in your dealings with Apple, you asked to be reimbursed for *all* of your in-game purchases. If that's so, I wonder if that might not have been a tactical mistake. I might instead have asked to be reimbursed for the most recent purchase; that way you stand a greater chance of getting something (if not everything) back.KrustyBrand wrote:

This makes sense to me. When was the first purchase? I am not defending EA or Apple, we both know this product has been an Alpha release until recently and now I would call it a Beta only because time has been so short but it does seem stable.
But if the first purchase was 4-6 months ago, and then another purchase after that they might be able to argue, well you knew what you were buying. Again totally not justifying, and having witnessed how much you have been jerked around frankly I would almost think it is personal, you achieved a blacklist. Same here, but in December when I bought Santa's Village and then couldn't play the game for the next 10 days. Apple refunded the purchase in about 2 hours.
To the OP... TSTO uses a "software as a service" model, so it is basically like asking for a refund of any other service. Would you ask your Internet provider for a refund after having service with them for 6 months because you got tired of the Internet? Or your cell phone provider because no one ever calls you? Of course not.
You received the service you paid for, regardless of whether you fully utilized them or not. Apple will not refund the amount you spent on a game you got tired of playing, just as they won't refund the price of an album you tired of listening to. Nor should they.
I think everyone is missing what he is saying. He doesn't want a refund because he is bored with the game. He wants a refund due to the frequent bugs and outages the game experiences. To be frank I'm not sure I blame him for that. When I pay for Internet, I expect that service to be available when I go to use it. If it only worked 6 times out of 10, then yeah, I would want some of my money back.
Nailed it.- Amex won't work either just found out. They will open a case but that 90+ page user agreement basically airlocks any argument of the rational world right out the window.

I can't help but think that the situation here is more nuanced than that, dhort. The ISP analogy is an imperfect one, but to extend it, let us say that I'm doing business with my local provider for a year. Suppose further that after a year of so-so service, I completely lose my Internet connectivity for a full week. Should I ask to be reimbursed for the entire 12 months? Alternatively, assume a different scenario: I call up my ISP and ask them to prorate my next bill because of an outage I experienced 6 months previously. I would imagine that the probability of the ISP's billing department acceding to my requests would be quite small indeed.
