John, your name is the first one they see when they go to the add-me thread. And I'm right up there with you. Some of the requests are from secondary and tertiary towns. Most, I'm convinced, are current neighbors who want a good neighbor for their other towns.

For my main town, I will add them, go there immediately and look at what they have. If they are too new, I will unfriendly them, but add them to my crawl towns. I know how exasperating it is to have really high level towns as neighbors, seeing all they have and not being able to keep up. If they are premium towns and seem to have everything possible, I tend not to add them. My experience is that they are less than kosher. Especially if they have things they shouldn't have.

True but this just started. My name has been there forever. At first I thought it had to do with the flu but others said it was happening to them as well. If their not on the forum though how are they reading the add me thread unless we have more lurkers than members. It's just a thought.

I am in the same boat as you John. I always get a stray request once in a while but in the last week or so I have been getting at least 5 a day. I never got this many when I was new and posting in the add me threads. I would love to know if it's just a coincidence or if something more nefarious is afoot.

Me too - I usually get a random request here and there, but I've been getting way more lately.

I haven't been posting all that much lately, but I'm guessing that people who are lurking are reading what we are saying and maybe feeling like they can relate to us, or like the humour they are seeing in some of our banter :)

Unfortunately, I usually don't add people who randomly request me because I'm pretty full up with neighbours as it is.

Thats fine and all, but is it too much to send a pm saying hi? I won't accept any random requests.

And I've been trying to cut down on neighbors. It takes too long to go through 100 every day. My crawl town only has 20 or so and I love it. Im hoping to get my main town down to 40-50, makes it so much easier to be a good neighbor.

I have been getting a few random requests too, but I don't mind. It has coincided with me posting something in the showcase, so I assumed they might have wanted to see the rest of my town.

I've also been getting a lot of random requests from ppl I don't know, but I had the same thing happen during the event with the cameras to tap. Guess because while I might only get game currancy from first 30 I visit, every person that visits leaves me 3, regardless how many. So that's what they're after?
Just an idea.
:) need to clean house again though, get rid of the bad neighbors.

Me either. I think I've had one this event, which I figured was because I posted on the forum. Maybe we smell bad?

But I used to get quite a few random requests - back when I used to post on here more often. In fact I wrote a thread about random requests myself another lifetime ago.

@BeLikeTheBoy you're not a poor neighbor, it's just that you only come over for important occasions :wink:

I just accept them. I usually have room from purging inactives. Glad to have new neighbors to see my hard work.

Woke up this morning with quite a list of requests waiting. Never known it as bad.

I'm happy with any friend requests but my neighbour list is full now, sorry.

I wouldn't say I've had a lot, but it's been steady. I'm curious though, why only accept requests from active forum members?
