Don't criticise the premium players for spending. Their money supports the rest of us freemium and quasi-freemium (Gil special and the odd Golden Scratch-R) players.
It's not about premium players. This person spent 300-400 dollars changing the appearance of ONE item. Not 'getting' the item, just changing how it looks. That goes beyond all sense.
No different than people that spend $500-$800 a month on an apartment that they will never own.
I am married, have 3 kids (18, 16, and 7), have a 4,200 sq.ft. house that is paid for (in cash), a few vehicles, a vacation home in Pigeon Forge, and I am retired. My wife works as an RN and is headed back to school for fulfill her dream of being a nurse practitioner. By the way I am 36 years old, and the wife is 32 years old. We have over 7 digits in our savings account which nets us over $2,000 a month in interest and all we have monthly is around $1,700 in bills. The wife makes right at $1,500 every 2 weeks as a nurse. Both my daughters work and have their college funds ready ($80,000 each out away) and my son does as well.
Now taken that into account neither one of, my wife or I, drink, smoke, party, etc. I either stay at home, play golf/basketball when I can and generally stick to myself. I collect Star Wars, and help build/restore cars. She works 3 days a week and when she's off, we run errands for my parents or stay at home.
Our situation is certainly unique, and I understand that.
What does go beyond all sense is someone judging how others spend their money without knowing the circumstances.
