I don't understand it. Night rides look just as bad now as they did at release.
Why is that? Don't you understand the UE?
Why old-fashioned technology when there are fallbacks for PS4?
Why support native hardware that was released 11 years ago? And everyone else has to cope with this old technology?
UE still offers fallbacks for PS4 in 5.4, just in case.Nanite, Global Illu and real dynamic shadows. Why isn't all that in there? I'm not even going to ask about ray tracing.
With 2.1, I really expected that, in addition to handling, there would be a bit more of a future in terms of graphics. But now, for example, night driving looks just as bad as it did at release. Apart from the bugs on the track (e.g. grass on asphalt in Monte Carlo). Quality control doesn't seem to be your strong point either, or why are fixed bugs suddenly reappearing?
Aso, co-driver announcements are sometimes too early or too late again (3km on easy bends or 3m before a chicane, not to mention left/right, just like a year ago) and brake lights are always on in the replay - noticed in Skoda WRC2, among others.

Game NOT working after update. Its been over a week now...is anyone going to fix it! 😬
- @MH2707 Ciao, anch'io ho riscontrato lo stesso problema. Ho anche disinstallato il gioco, ma niente, a Monte Carlo in modalità campionato 2024 è primavera.
Tu hai trovato qualche soluzione? No, they need to update it. Also, Rovanpera is missing from all the rallies in championship mode
@EA_GroguetThanks alot for also adding the correct Fanatec GT DD Pro Wheelbase into PC.
Finaly im able to just Plug & Play and have the correct buttons assigned and Playstation Buttons working, no longer requiring a pad or keyboard to navigate, which is especially super helpful during VR gameplay.
That said if there is any chance, there are still Post Processing bugs and visual issues of lights flickering on a Meta Quest 3.
In general it would be super amazing to also fix the HDR implementation because the color slider is a Gamma Wreckfest and not actually calibrating Brightness.
Either way thanks for making my game experience ALOT better with this patch.
Id also may want to suggest that swapping over to Unreal Engine 5 as soon as possible because of Lumen tremendously increasing lighting quality but also the Engine beeing about two or three times as fast than UE4, which cant handle more than 6 Processor Threads, while even cheap i5 Processors such as 13600k already have 20 Threads to work with, yet Hyperthreading and E Cores are causing slowdowns in the heavily oudated Unreal Engine 4.Also please please and please again, get rid of Unreal Engine 4 Anti Aliasing and try to increase performance with DLSS off.
DLSS does not work at motion, its nvidias marketing screenshot bs bias that only causes image corruption and kills texture quality ALOT.
only DLAA is good enough as a form of Anti Aliasing and even that generates disfunctional ghosting images.
like every pillar on any road i see two or three times, same with any roadsign.it is totaly not worth the Performance gain and that said, like above, unreal Engine 5 does everything better.
EDIT: 22.10.24
My game is hardcrashing now. I cannot currently progress the campaign:
Windows 10 64b
VR:Meta Quest3
Wheel: Fanatec GT DD Pro
LG Ultragear 240Hz OLED 27GR95QE-B
Intel Core i5 13600k
ASRock Z790 PG Lightning
32GB G.Skill F5-6000J3038F16GX2-TZ5N
Inno3D RTX 3080 Ti
1x Crucial MX300 500gb, 1x 970 Pro NVMe 500gb, 1x 860 Evo 500gb, 1x Mushkin Pilot-E 2TB NVMe
Be Quiet Straight Power 11 Platinum, 750WattsNvidia Driver 561.09
I can't go along with that. With 11900 and GF 4070 it goes smoothly. I would go with UE5, but Lumen doesn't support everything, it's just a way to get there. Sure, 4.3 or 4.5 isn't the best, especially as real RT isn't really there. Nanite, Lumen and Substrate is cool, but demands fallbacks for PS4, annoying for us, but probably still a market that can't be moved to more modern forms.
As long as PS4 is still so radically widespread, we'll have to wait for a UE5. As long as there's still enough money flowing through this channel, well.

Unfortunately, driving in the rain, especially with the headlights on, is tragic. You can't concentrate on the road. With the lights off, it's much better. Can you change the impact of light on rain?
At night is generally poorly implemented. Rain is annoying when it works, halfway like in real life. Try driving at night in real life in heavy rain, it comes pretty close. But the headlights are completely wrong. As it still is now, it has nothing to do with reality and it's really annoying when driving, regardless of whether you have Grafig set to ultra or minimum, it looks equally bad at all levels.
(Win 11, PC Intel 11900, 64BG RAM, 4070 Ti Super, 980 SSD)
And don't necessarily focus on UE5, especially not Lumen or Nanite. Not yet. It works quite well, substrate is interesting, but not yet fully safe for production.
What you can do, however, is rework the additional headlights at night. The contrast especially in the cockpit is too annoying, it glitters extremely annoying in any weather and no shadows are cast, with the actually cool replays it's a shame that the night rides look completely off. The backs of walls, for example, are brightly lit again, even though they should be in the shade. In every level. Take a look at this and compare it with real footage.
