Hello everyone I’m a long time livery maker for DiRT games and other games, you can see them Here, I would like to give some feedback on things to improve the livery editor in the game. The livery editor in the new WRC game is a great first step in to a livery creator, but I feel like the potential of this tool is wasted due to the lack of a couple features, and minor adjustments, that would allow for more people to use it to express themselves and make very nice liveries, here are some of those items in no particular order:
Allow for bigger and smaller sizes for the decals
The minimum size in particular is too big, if I want to place a decal on the side of this wing, for an example, I can’t because the minimum size is too big, these limits seem very arbitrary and unnecessary.
Increase the area of projection for decals
Again, the limits of the decals projection seem arbitrary and unnecessary, if I want to add decals to other areas of that same wing I cant because the maximum the game will allow is here for the roof and here for the back, but if I spin the logo you can see that the game can project the decal on the wing as shown here and here, so you end up not being able to place a decal on the wing due to the limited projection area and limited size of the decals.
Add the ability to mirror decals
Most liveries are symmetrical from left to right, so the livery editor needs a tool to mirror one or all decals from one side of the car to the other, the lack of numeric values for the position, rotation, scale and skew of the decals makes it even harder to mirror a livery.
Finer adjustment for position, rotation, scale and skew of the decals
Specially for skew, since it adjusts on the d-pad, one quick press of the d-pad makes the decal skew way too much.
Stamp decals / copy paste decals with modifications
Add a way to press a button and have a decal, that I already chose a color and a size, rotation, skew, to be placed on the current location, and at the same time make a copy with the same color, size, rotation, skew, that can now be placed on another location (same behavior as stamping a layer on Forza games), or have a way to just copy and paste a decal with its modifications.
Add the ability to group decals
Add the ability to Group Decals so that they can be edited all as one, size, rotation, position etc.
Save groups of decals
Add the ability to save those groups of decals so that we can reuse those decal groups on other cars, or even share them so that other players in the community can use them on their liveries
Share complete liveries
With the ability to share decal groups the game could also have the ability to share entire liveries so that those who don’t want to create entire liveries can use ones already made by the community.
Horizontal shift for projection on the front and rear bumper
Add the ability to horizontally rotate the projection of decals on the front and rear bumpers to prevent the distortion of the decals like you can see here, a projection from the POV of the camera of this screenshot would fix the distortion of this decal.
Material of decals
Add the ability to change the material of the decal to the same options as the paint pattern (glossy, matte, metallic, carbon, etc.)

Plus:
Reduce the unnecessary camera restrictions.
It's very easy to find yourself placing a decal in a way the camera can't see, and even when you exit to viewing the car's chosen body part you still can't move the camera to see it, so you have to exit the whole decal section.
Fix: Just turn those camera restrictions way, way down. Not sure they're even necessary at all; you could just let us fully rotate the camera for all body parts and be done with the whole problem.
Highlight hovered decal when selecting a previously-placed one.
Once you start using many repeat decals to craft something bigger, it becomes impossible see which one you're about to select in the list. There's no way to tell them apart, so it turns into a massive hassle of choose one, change it, see if that was the right one, exit, choose another one... and hope you don't accidently save a change in the process.
- Fix: As you mouse-over/pre-select decals in the list of previously-placed decals, have the hovered/selected one highlight in some bright colour. The colour would need to be pulsating or striped/checkered/something, so that it's always clear, even when the decal itself is similar to the highlight colour.

Yes please, I don't understand who thought not having sliders for livery editor is a good idea, not only for size and such. I am a perfectionist and it bothers me so much that one of my decals is slightly bigger or slighrly more turned just because I pressed the keyboard half a milisecond longer. We have sliders for the colours, why can't we have sliders for size, angle, skew and what not? I would literally spend hours and hours in the editor but as it is it just infuriates me and I have no desire to play the game after that. EDIT: Also, why can't we zoome in for better detailing?

I Loved that I could make my car look any way I possibly want it to, in need for speed underground 2 and forza motorsports 2.
2 very old games. But I loved my car so much and loved racing them because they felt more like MY car.
In WRC I would love it even more, especially since I will race often with a car I like. And would be extra special to have full freedom in car paint color and texture and full livery freedom to create anything possible.
Not as important as wanting 360 degree 200% accuracy steering on left thumbstick, but still would be a very cool and fun edition.
