100% agreed. Even though I think the physics in general is a big step up, RWD cars are almost a step back from previously.
That you can't light up the tires in the M3 in a straight line on tarmac is just not right. And if you try to get it sideways you can, but the grip loss and grip-up is way too harsh. You should be able to modulate the grip much more with throttle control.
On gravel, while better, I still think the RWDs doesn't allow enough throttle play going sideways, also here the grip snaps back too harsh imo. The snapping can be tuned out with softening dampers/ARBs though.
In general, high powered 2WD cars should have more longitudal slip. Getting off the line in cars like that requires throttle modulation to find enough grip to get going.
