Issue with EA SPORTS™ WRC Game Crashing on Start-Up
Dear Madam/Sir,
I recently purchased EA SPORTS™ WRC during the summer sale on Steam, eager to participate in a potential future Rally Esports challenge. Unfortunately, the game crashes on start-up, preventing me from even reaching the main menu. I have noticed that many others have faced this issue since the game's release in November 2023. It is quite frustrating that this problem persists even in July 2024. Or maybe my PC is at fault?
Could you please provide any information on whether there will be a fix for this issue soon? Additionally, I would like to know if the game will be delivered annually or if it will evolve into a model similar to CS2 or Dota 2, with continuous updates instead of annual sales.
Given that I am currently unable to play the game, I am uncertain about the refund process. If there is a positive response regarding continuous updates rather than annual sales, I would prefer to keep the game hoping that this start-up crash will be fixed in the future. Otherwise, I will have to request a refund.
I also read some reviews claiming that you added Kernel Anti-Cheat. Upon checking my Event Viewer, I saw 4 Critical Kernel-Power events and 4 Critical AppModel-Runtime events. Is your Anti-Cheat not working properly and crashing my computer? As soon as I see the intro video, my computer screen turns black, and the speed of all fans increases to the maximum. I could not even access task manager with Ctrl + Alt + Del. I only heard sound and could not give any input to my computer. In order to stop this, I have to press the power button and then restart the computer immediately to give all the hardware components time to cool down. This Kernel issue also happened with other games on release, such as CS2, for example (I checked Event Viewer at that time as well). Now, some months later, the CS2 game does not crash due to these errors as they do not happen anymore. CS2 also behaved in the same way with a black screen and other issues similar to your game.
I also tried to write the same messages above in the EA WRC Forum. My content was marked as spam for no reason. I wanted to edit a word in my text and then it immediately got marked as spam. Or did someone report my post? This is my second message.
Additionally, the link from EA is incorrect. They ask, "If you believe it is an error please report the abuse regarding the spam," and I am being sent to "Tell us why this content is inappropriate."
Please help me.
