Wanted to jump on in and let you know that this was reported to the team previously. I have not seen an update yet but the team would like to get some more info from everyone who is not able to use these. I've seen some older reports with workarounds but need details from players still having and just started having these issues.

Not all below will apply, so what does not you can skip. As much info as you can helps!

Wrc ps5 The game recognises I have a wheel but not the dd extreme seen it as dd pro, set it to primary but can only do that with a controller no buttons at all work on the wheel set, set a quick run with controller had accelerator handbrake held then when I released handbrake and then went nowhere     Bala101

My DD Extreme is recognized as a CSL Elite in the game. I can use the wheel to drive however I cannot use the wheel to navigate menus or hit pause etc. I must use a separate controller to navigate all menus and settings. This was never an issue with my DD pro. Hope this gets fixed ASAP as I play WRC 90% of the time.

Hi, some feedback to help to solve this issue as soon as possible:

EA WRC23 not recognizing the Podium Steering Wheel Monte Carlo Rally buttons.

Fix it to finally use the game / wheel combo which I bought it for….

Now the game is not EA used (use Grid 2.0 now which works fine but want to upgrade…)

@simart4 We just left a meeting on peripherals. They are making some updates and changes, but not a specific update on it yet that we have. 

Just to follow up, the biggest thing on this is to basically start over. 

Remove the PC drivers and uninstall them.

Remove all USB devices that you can from the console

Hook everything back up on PC, install all updated drivers etc

I am sending the thread again to the team to look at. It will be up to them to test everything out and see if they can reproduce it on that console. It could be something small, or that a driver is not being recognized.

Fanatec DD Extreme wheel + base

Game doesn't appear to recognize this specific wheel. I am unable to progress beyond the opening splash screen to the main menu. Once game boots up it announces "Press the cross button to start". The cross button does not function.

When using Fanatec Formula V2.5 wheel all controls function as intended. Wheelbase is operating normally. 

When using DD Extreme wheel with other games the Cross button functions as intended. Wheel itself is fully operational.

Game: EA WRC

Plattform: PS 5

Input device: Fanatec Clubsport DD+

Wheel: Podium Monte Carlo Rally & F1 V2.5

When I Start the Game with the Rally Wheel attached, the Base is not recognized at all. Moreover, the Game does not even show the x-button Icon to proceed from the starting screen.

If I equip the formula wheel, at least the x-button shows up, so I can move fortward to the Main Menu and from there to the settings to configure the Wheel. The DD+ is recognized as a CSL DD but I can configure everything and set up buttons to my liking. 

But if I then move on to any Race-Mode, no matter if Race, Time Trial, Career or what ever, and the session starts, the car refusses to move forward. Throttle, brakes, gears, Handbreak, everything works, but the Car stays in place.

I own the Game for Month now and spend hours and hours in the menu but didn‘t managed to drive a single inch with a wheel. Very disapointing. 

Changing the Wheelbases mode from PS5 to PS4 or even Compatibility-Mode Shows also no effect.

The Controller Works fine by the way.

I really Hope you guys can sort this out - keep my fingers crossed.

@EA_Shepard It's been almost 6 months, and it still doesn't work. It's shameful of EA and Codemasters to treat us consumers this way. I will never buy a new EA product again, only second hand. I will try to ask for a refund from Sony, due to the inability to play due to your fault.

@EA_Shepard can you provide any update on this issue?  Its been 2 months since the last WRC patch...

I am on PC and am experiencing the same issue as those on ps5 since the game does not recognize the dd+ extreme wheel.

Any word on this? I haven't been able to play since April.

Got Fanatec DD+ Extreme.Update it.

With game EA Sports WRC no support for my wheel.

Can't use interface,I must use pad for that.

No Force Feedback at all.

Stearing is just wrong.

I was super excited about my DD extreme, WRC was the first game I loaded up and of course it has issues recognizing the wheel.

Super disappointing. 

My super old belt driven club sport wheel worked fine, and my brand new DD extreme does not. Please update and fix this ASAP. 

Fanatec dd extreme with wheel. PC win 10

I can steer, I can bind buttons to racing controls such as head lights and shifting, but I cannot navigate any menus, zero buttons work for settings. I the options menu it does assign numbers to buttons, but as I mentioned they only work for racing, not menus. 

I have to use mouse and keyboard for everything outside of driving.

It detects as a CSL DD. If I put the wheelbase in compatibility mode it detects a club sport wheelbase but an error/exclamation on the wheel itself.

PS5 mode does the same, PC mode does have force feedback.

Game is still incompatible with DD Extreme wheel, which was released on February 9th, 2024. It's been nearly ONE YEAR. 

I have supported and defended the game on message boards and forums since it's initial release. I can no longer do so. This is categorically unreasonable. 

I've been unable to play the game significantly longer than I was able to play it.  

Message I received from Fanatec's Level 2 tech support earlier today:

Today, I got the needed feedback regarding your problem. What I initially asumed in your case has now been confirmed. 
 
Our IT/Development department is already aware of the fact that the GT DD X steering wheel has not yet been implemented by the game developer. (emphasis mine)
 
We´ve just forwarded this once more, according to your case, but have to kindly ask you for your understanding, that we can not influence this any further, as sorry as we really are. Therefore, we unfortunately have to wait until the steering wheel will being updated by EA WRC. (again, mine) 
 
If you have any else questions in the meantime, please don´t hesitate to let us know. Otherwise, we will now close this ticket as solved. This is a problem on your end, EA. Do better.

Device:- Fanatec 15Nm DD+ GT Extreme Wheel

It's an officially licenced PS5 wheel so EA WRC need to do better with this, especially as Fanatec sponsor the WRC and they've released the replica Ford M-Sport wheel to use with these wheel bases.

The base is incorrectly recognised as a 5Nm/8Nm GT DD Pro Wheel.

Please understand the difference between the wheel bases as they are totally different.

CSL GT DD Pro 5Nm/8Nm - Works fine.

DD+ GT Extreme 15Nm - BROKEN

Throttle/Brake work, and steering recognised OK, but.....

No Force Feedback

No menu control (need to use PS5 controller for menu work)

No paddle shift

No handbrake 

@EA_Shepard any word yet big shep? Honestly it’s gotten ridiculous at this point

This is the first time I've heard of such a problem.

I also bought the DD Extreme when it was first released last year and replaced it with the DD Pro, and I've been using it with the PS5 without any problems.

Although it's still recognized as the DD Pro, the steering wheel is still working properly as before with Fanatec's CSL Elite Steering Wheel WRC, ClubSport Steering Wheel RS, and the ClubSport Universal Hub V2 and Podium Hub with real car steering wheels.

FFB was also 100% with the DD Pro, but with the DD Extreme it's around 80%, which is quite satisfactory.

However, the Podium Button Module Rally is still not recognized. (There is a problem with the driver software.)

I don't know the cause because this topic wasn't discussed on the Fanatec forum, but when a problem occurred I just restarted everything and got through it.

No difference whatsoever for me. Inputs are showing in controls settings when I press like X or O but input isn’t registering which is my main problem and makes the game unplayable for me
