Text Chat Window Bugged - Game "freeze"

It’s the year 2026, and somehow we’re still fighting the UI more than the enemy team. If you’ve been playing Battlefield 6, you know exactly which "final boss" I’m talking about: the Chat Window Soft-Lock.

There is nothing quite as soul-crushing as being on a massive killstreak, seeing your squad actually play the objective for once, and then deciding to type a quick "nice job" in team chat—only for the game to decide you’re done for the night.

The Anatomy of the Bug

For those lucky enough to haven't hit it yet, the bug usually triggers like this:

You hit Enter to chat.

The text box opens, but the cursor vanishes or the "Focus" gets stuck.

Suddenly, your keyboard inputs are trapped in a void. You can’t move, you can’t shoot, and—crucially—you can’t hit Escape to close the menu.

You’re left standing there like a decorative mannequin in the middle of a warzone while a tank slowly turns its turret toward you.

The "Alt+F4" Meta

Since the UI overrides almost every other command, the only "fix" is the dreaded Alt+F4.

The Loss of Progress: You lose your match XP bonuses.

The Emotional Damage: Having to hard-close a game because of a text box in a AAA title feels like a relic from 2005.

Why It’s So Infuriating

In a high-stakes shooter like Battlefield, momentum is everything. When the game crashes, it’s frustrating; when the game technically keeps running but refuses to let you interact with it because of a chat glitch, it feels personal. It’s the ultimate "anti-social" bug—it literally punishes you for trying to communicate with your team.
