Controller not working in online modes only

not only online. i noticed it on career mode as well. i thought i was tripping or that my controller was broken, but its pretty new. tried hard wiring and BT but nothing works. just started after the latest update

I figured it out, but not out of the water yet. It has nothing to do with the controllers though. The latency is really bad, so I'm suffering from severe input lag and delays. I have a 2.5G connection to my PC and speeds are super fast. No latency issues with other games, only this one. Not sure how to solve it yet..

I’ve been having the same problem since after Christmas. I bought a new controller and had the same issue. After switching back to my old controller, the same problem still occurred, meaning not the controller problem. I’ve used both controllers to play other games and never had the controller not registering issue. I enabled the side-to-side controller in game to reflect my controller registration. Every time the bug occurred, the in game controller registration is stuck and the left stick is freezed at the direction my player is running, during this time, no matter which button I click there’s no registration. It often resume after ~10-20 sec. I really hope EA take this matter seriously as it’s been occurring for at lease 6 months (same problem reported by others on EA forums and Reddit), many people suffering from this bug and quit playing the game.
