Speed on cards do not match in game speed

I have Mbappe 92 from the SBC and Carlos alberto in defense. One has 98 speed the other 89 speed on the card. Now I was playing gauntlet yesterday and I could not keep up with players with 64 pace ( Harry Kane) or Benzema (80 pace).  This was not in the push pull position when I was tryingto get the ball of them, it was in a straight line me running back with Mbappe trying to catch 64 pace Harry kane and not even getting close to him.

what is the point of me doing a 4 million SBC spending real money on the game if the stats are not true to the gameplay??
