Update from 9/24/2025: I forgot to share an update once there was a patch applied, but now I can see my friends online. However, that bug still happens from time to time.
Here's how I'm doing a temporary fix: I restart my game completely (different from leaving their servers), and then invite my friends to join my party.
It's tedious after a while, but that's what helped me so far.
