I've been playing since the start of this era and engaging in all of the events, I've even bought the first 2 episode passes but I don't have enough materials to take all of my era units to the level equivalent to gear 12 (105) even though we were promised that all players would be able to get gear 12 units.
I don’t know what you have been doing, but if you played the game right, including beating all the coliseum stages and going through all the era pass levels, you will have them at that level. I have every one of my characters at 110 right now without spending a penny on anything.
Having the same problem. Arnold did mansion a fix in the era store but I've never found it. As a f2p player I haven't bought the episode pass and shouldn't have too?

Looking at your Era units, it looks like you have upgraded some beyond Era level 105, which would explain the material shortage.
